    Light bleed..what to do?

    Hi,
I am 15 weeks pregnant and I just went to the toilet and have a light pinkish bleed. Theres not a great deal, but enough to worry me, since DH has just left for the weekend to go bush and am alone with dd.

Any suggestions? I dont have any cramping bar the pulling I have been having over the past few weeks.

    TIA

    Melissa

I agree, it is probably nothing but worth getting checked.

No harm in giving the hospital a quick call.

    Hi,
I went to the gp to organise a scan, unfortunately I couldnt get one, so I had to go to ED. They checked me out and my urine is fine, they took my bloods and want me to go back at 9am tomorrow for a scan.
The blood has turned brown, which to me is a good sign. But I have lower back pain. Am a bit nervous, especially with dh away.
And I'll have to find a sitter for dd coz she wasnt all that bit interested in staying still for 4 hours thismorning, although she did great.

    Will keep you posted,

    Thanks

Good luck hun - brown discharge generally means old blood and some people get a bit of discharge and back pain around the time AF would be due. Good luck with your scan tomorrow and rest up loads today.

I had bleeding at 16weeks with my 2nd dd and I was so scared as I didn't know at the time that you could bleed in pregnancy and not lose your baby. But now I know its quite common. Luckily everything was fine and I was reassured when the Ob showed me her breathing and moving on the ultrasound. Hope all is well with you and little darl!

WELL, i DONT KNOW WHATS GOING ON, BUT HAVE HAD ANOTHER BLEED THISMORNING AFTER GOING FOR #2. tHATS WHAT HAPPENED LAST WEEK, WAS AFTER SOME STRAINING.
Today there was a little more blood, but its slowed down and is already changing colour. I have no cramps at all. Infact my nipples are really sensitive so thats a good sign. Can this happen after straing? Is it something to do with my cervix?
At the scan last week, they couldnt see anything that would cause concern.

    Thanks

minimatron I would call the hospital and talk to a midwife or call your obs office if you have one. I was bleeding for about two weeks on an off, but only very small though. But I was on the phone to my hospital and speaking directly to a midwife when I started bleeding heavier at one stage and it made me feel a lot better.

Hi, I would be taking it very easy!!!! There is not much anyone can do, especially when the last scan showed no reason for it, so rest up. Avoid DTD, it does'nt conincide with that as well does it? And maybe some Metimucil or the like if you are straining.
Good luck hope all is well soon.

    Hey girls,

Thanks for your replies. The bleeding fully stopped by last night. I have never had a bleed after dtd (touch wood), just straining after going to the toilet and the blood is from my vagina. I am going to go and get some coloxyl with senna, just to soften things up. I have a midwife appointment soon, so will definately mention this to them.

    Thanks again for your help

    Melissa
