    Weird tummy shape

    Hi All,

This is the first time this has actually happened. When i got up this morning (lying on my back), both sides of my belly flopped in to form a very coned shape.

Is this normal? My explanation (trying to reassure myself) is that bub is lying in a different position) but it is starting to worry me as it seems like she's not there anymore =(

Anyone have this happen to them?

    Thanks in advanced!

Sounds strange Phoenix, I think I'd be a bit freaked too! However I think you might be right about bub just being in a different position, perhaps it's a very different possy, like they've done a 180 spin, so your belly is a completely different shape. How far along are you?

If you're super concerned, and don't feel any movement (which will depend on how far along you are anyway), just take yourself to the hospital and get them to listen for a heartbeat perhaps? Maybe call them first, and see what they say. Try not to worry too much!

No probs mate. Keep an eye on movements, cos I'm sure your ob will ask you that, any time I've been concerned, the midwives will say 'have you been feeling movement?'

Oh, and I'm 26 weeks on Monday! Good fun! Are you in a BellyBuddies group? You could probably pick from either late March or early April!

I did a physio class recently, and the physio said when you get the cone in the middle of your stomach, its where one of the types of ab muscles (can't remember which) are beginning to seperate, so that the bit of skin and belly pops up through the space they've made into a cone shape. hope this makes sense
