I'm the same Rach and asked my SIL who is a MW yesterday and she said it is fine. If there is any problems you will know apparently. I asked this question here some time ago and everyone said it is ok and that you just 'know' if something's not right. I try and sleep on my left side, have a pillow between my legs and sort of under my belly and one right behind me but I still end up on my back. It does ache if I have been in that position for a while and baby starts moving quite a bit once I get up for a wee and go back to bed on my side. Kept me awake last night for ages as I was enjoying feeling baby move My placenta is anterior so I dont feel much during the day usually.

I still sleep on my back occasionally and I a 28 weeks I sleep on my side with a pillow just under my tummy. Do what you feel comfortable doing. Obviously if you sleep on your back and get sick or nauseas then you wouldn't do it again but if your still comfortable on your back then I see no reason why you shouldn't keep doing it. After all your body wouldn't let you do anything that would hurt you or the bub.
