Hi Ladies,
Hoping you ladies can shine some wisdom on me?Even though this is baby number three this pregnancy is so different to the others. Advice would be totally appreciated. Hugely
First;morning all day sickness. All day , anytime, anyplace you can count on me to summon up a surprise vomit-especially if i lay down. Went to pharmacist yesterday he suggested increasing my b6,admittadly only 2 days of trying but so far no relief. Have tried lots of ideas but am open to more. i really dont want to be like this for another ten weeks.
Second: and this one is a little dumb but how do i encourage my baby in utero to sleep when i do?Is there anything i can do to myself to help /encourage him to settle. i find he is kicking so hard at nightime that i'm never able to get to sleep before 2;30am and the other morning it was an all time worst-got to sleep at 4.45am. I've got kids to get to school.
I'm looking and feeling so totally ordinary. No surprise i guess. Any help you can offer would be so appreciated.
I know i sound like a sad sack but i also have a pinched nerve in my back and physio isnt till next week;so my walking style is interesting to say the least, but the minute i lay down Lil Rocky in utero starts to use me as a punching back. Feels like hes doing john Travoltas Saturday night fever in there...
not much advice for u except... the sickness will pass, u wont be pregnant forever and the sleeping thing? babies actually have no idea of day and night in the womb so if bub keeps u awake at night it probley has more to do with the way YOU are laying.
I don't have any advice but I can sympathise! I'm still having constant nausea and vomit several times a day. My OB has had me on a range of anti-emetic drugs including maxalon, zofran and phenergan but none of them seem to help much. I am just counting down the weeks until bubs gets here! My focus has shifted from trying to stop the morning sickness to trying to focus on the other good stuff about being pregnant, so as not to totally lose the magic this is supposed to be. So I try hard not to complain, put people off when they ask if I feel better (because I don't) and change teh subject to more fun stuff - baby movements, nursery, anything but how I feel.
As for movement at night - I figured that was normal - as soon as the lights go out, the kicking ramps up!
Hi Pollyanna
I ended up in hospital on a drip due to severe 'all day' sickness. I wasn't even keeping water down. It took the Doc a while but he eventually convinced me to take medication. I can't take maxalon so I was given Ondansetron wafers which are great, but work out to about $8 a wafer. At night they were giving me Phenergen which is an antihistamine and makes you sleep. I've still been sick but I can function now and I'm not getting dehydrated.
Hope you feel better soon
Ok.
Try snacking on plain crackers through the day. You may feel better always having something in your stomach.
6 small snacks a day rather than 3 main meals.
Try keeping a bottle of water with you to sip on.
Ginger may help. Anzac bickies, or Ginger Snaps?? I think thats what they are called. Ginger beer.
I had hyperemesis Gravidarum - severe morning/all day sickness with my girls & was in hospital on & off on a drip. I tried Maxalon, but can't take it. I wasn't offered anything else, but there might be something you can try.
The only thing I can suggest re night/day time is going for a walk to put bubs to sleep? They usually sleep through the day when we are doing things as they are being rocked. As soon as we sit still for a while they wake up.
