From what I have been experiencing mine are sharp, stabbing pains on the inside of my hips which occur when I do something suddenly like sneeze, cough, pass wind, or get up too quickly. It doesn't feel like what you are describing. If your pain is in your groin and pubic area it could be Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD) and I would probably see a doctor about it.
