Ok, I'm feeling really strange. When I move or get up, or sometimes even when lying down still I have this throbbing sensation through my body. I can feel my pulse in my FEET. I feel it in my butt..... legs...... all over. Is this something I should worry about? Could it be related to high bp? I had a high reading a few days ago and am getting a bit concerned with this strange feeling as well. Other than this I feel totally fine, not stressed out or anything like that.
I also occasionally feel like my heart is pounding. Nothing severe, just.... like it's beating a bit harder than normal.
I would ring the the Hospital or MW who you are seeing and talk to them on the phone. I would think they would want to see just in case with those symptoms.
Go get checked. You can ask a pharmacy to check your blood pressure. I bought a blood pressure monitor and used it at home to keep an eye on things. It may be nothing, but if you've already had a high reading, then monitor it.
All good advice. The feeling is gone now so I'm going to keep an eye on things and if it comes back or gets worse, I'll call the hospital. otherwise perhaps a trip to the pharmacy might be a good idea tomorrow.
Ring your GP, if they have closed for the day, they would have and after hours number to ring or a Hospital number for you to ring.
Pretty sure it's nothing to panic about, just worth having a chat to someone about your symptons over the phone. Also let them know you had a high blood pressure reading a couple of days ago too when you are talking them.
It's possibly too late to call your GP now, so I'd suggest calling the Pregnancy, Birth & Baby Helpline -- 1800 882436 -- it's 24 hours, 7 days a week, available in all states. They'll give you an idea of whether you need to go to the hospital as a matter of urgency or whether it can wait for the GP.
I've had the same thing since about 18 weeks, and my BP is pretty spot on textbook every time i see my dr. Cant hurt to mention it to your GP but i wouldnt stress too much. Every ones different tho... i get random moments of feeling my pulse EVERYWHERE!!
Thanks everyone for your advice. I ended up just keeping an eye on things and relaxing, and it went away and didn't come back again last night. Today I'm feeling absolutely fine so I think it might have been one of those panicky hormonal moments....... since I cried a couple of times over nothing yesterday, lol.
I'm glad everything is fine now! I just thought I would add though, I have SVT (supra vantricular Taccicardia (sp?) and it begins exactly how you are describing then escalates. It doesn't usually last for very long either but can become scary... I was thinking maybe you have this very mildly cause my doc told me it's common in pregnancy. What REALLY works for it (funnily enough) Is take a deep breath, pinch your nose & close your mouth so no air can escape then BLOW! kind of like if your trying to blow the air out your ears (like when you pop your ears when on a plane) Sound ridiculas I know but my cardiologist taught me this one years ago & it has never let me down. It seams like it re-sets my heart beat or something weird like that! HTH in the future!
