    Spotting - whats Normal?

Hi everyone i would like to know about your experiences with and what you know about spotting.

I'm 13 weeks with twins. for the past week i wake up with dark sticky blood when i go to the loo in the morning. its only of a morning and thats it. no pain or anything.
I had a scan on monday and both babies were fine but i just worry.

has anyone else had this and do we know why.

this didn't happen with my first son.

    hope you can help

The fact you have had a scan and everything show that your babies are fine great! My experience with spotting was not good as at 11 weeks I had spotting with no pain and it was a missed miscarriage. Your situation is very different as you are carrying two babies and a scan has showed all is fine. What did your Dr say? Do they think there is a reason, nothing to do with your placenta or anything like that? I would be asking your dr or ob if you haven't been given a reason. I can see why you would be feeling a little worried as any sign of blood is scary. I did have spotting this pregnacy at 4 weeks and it stopped so not all blood is bad!
Have you had a scan since you have been bleeding?
Goodluck I hope someone else has some answers for you!

    Hi,
I had bleeding with this preg and my last. The first, it was brown, like the stuff ing the bottom of chockmilk, and later turned dark red. A scan showed that I had lost my bub when the brown first appeared. The second time around, it was light red, Fresh, almost pink. I went for scans, and scans, and they couldn't find anything wrong. I am now 22 weeks preg with that same preg, and all is well. Haven't bleed since week 10.
I don't think any bleeding should be classed as "normal". If you bleed, get it checked! You can NEVER be too carefull.

    My experiences have been:

m/c at 13.5 weeks, but the baby had passed away before then as it wasn't a 13.5 eek size. Heavy feeling in cervix and felt restless and some period like back pain, increasing amounts of blood started out pinkish brown then red.

DD#1- 13 weeks-spotting like a light period for a couple of weeks a bit brownish , no pain or heaviness

DD#2- 13 weeks- light spotting for about a week red/brown in colour. There was no pain or heaviness.

The doctors didn't give me any answers as to why I spotted at around 13 weeks, but I think it probably has some hormone reason. Best wishes.

Kristy - what did your dr say when you said you had spotting?
I had spotting with Aiden, from about 5weeks, thru to 8weeks. And it was on and off all day. But, nothing that late in the preg.
If you scan showed both bubs are fine, that i would monitor the spotting, but, try not to worry about it. How often do you see your obs/gp?

Hun please dont stress! Spotting doesnt always mean something bad! My sister spotted throughout her 3 pregnancies and her children are fine.

I know its nice to hear some feedback but to hear it resulted in m/c i dont think is what someone, well i know i wouldnt, would want to hear.

Well. It's the truth. We don't want to tell someone," oh you'll be ok!" when we don't know. I had been reasured by someone that brown spotting was normal, and when I found out that I had lost my baby, I REALLY resented it.
You should ALWAYS get spotting checked out. No matter what anyone tells you.
    And that's the truth!

Lisylee.. i wasnt saying for Kristy not to get it checked out, i just know the last thing i would want to be told is that i am going to miscarry because what i had was common with someone else who did m/c.. when im sorry but it isnt always the truth or the case. I would honestly prefer people to help me remain positive rather than have me freaking out when there maybe no reason to.
    But hey, thats just me.

I think you will find by re reading the posts that all the women in here have been positive and said that it is common and it DOESNT mean you will miscarry I am proof of that as I said in my post and so did the other ladies. It takes alot of strength for a women who had lost a child to share there story but we do it to show there is a light at the other end no matter what happens.

I went to the Dr on sunday, i did kinda freak out after reading about the M/c's but im ok and so are my babies.

I'm still spotting a little but the DR and nurse both said its very normal and may not ever go away during the pregnancy.

thanks a bunch. and hope everyone has a good day.
