Wow! I've NEVER heard of ms that bad!
My SIL suffers badly from hyperemesis gravidarum (SEVERE morning sickness, almost killed her). She was hospitalised with both our nieces, the second one from about 5 months until she delivered. When she delievered our second niece, she was 5kg lighter than before she fell pregnant and SUPER skinny. It's an awful curse!!

CrazyLady: (I love your screen name!!) I'm not surprised that chick demanding her tubes tied! I guess that's the kind of thing that makes people not want any more children, it'd be awful! Though I bet she'd feel real good after, and not have to worry about baby belly!!

Kazbah: I'm still amazed with people who don't gain much. You have bad ms too?

Taurean: It's really incredible that your SIL has had more than one baby after being so sick. It's scary it can kill you - and she went back for more! Hehe, she must have a really strong will for that!

I know! She's mad!! LOL! She actually had two miscarriages along the way too and was told by her doctor after our second niece was born that she was not to fall pregnant again as she seriously was at risk of dying. She is literally allergic to being pregnant. I have a good friend who was similar but not as bad and she threw up constantly with both her pregnacies as well. She's decided two kids is enough, any wonder!

Taurean: Heh, allergic to being pregnant. Haven't heard that before! hehe. Was your SIL thinking of having any more children anyway? It's amazing these girls have had more than one child!

ashie: Good to hear that your ob says all is good. I guess that's why they say that every pg is different! Sounds like you will be lucky and not gain much this pg. Wish I could say the same for me!

My Ob has never once weighed me during this pregnancy or my son's pregnancy. I told him how much I was losing with my son's pregnancy (I started at 59kg and lost 6kg, and didn't get back to 59 until I was 20weeks pregnant), but he was never worried at all. He said he would have concerns if I was in my 3rd trimester and losing weight, but early on he said it was all fine.

This pregnancy I lost about 4kg's before putting it back on. I'm now about 3kg's over my pre-pregnancy weight, but my tummy is huuuuuuge! Looks like I'm making a habit of growing big babies as DS was 8lb10oz when born at 37 weeks, lol.

I gained like 8kgs in the 1st tri (I didn't vomit and cause I felt sooo bad I ate! Only thing that made me feel better) but then between like 18-26 weeks I didn't gain anything at all!! I think maybe like 200gms or something! I def was getting bigger and was concerned that I wasn't gaining but my MW said it was fine and that really it is only in the 3rd tri that you "should" be gaining weight... but pregnancy is so individual! Every single mother is different!!
I wouldn't be too concerned unless your belly wasn't growing etc...

I think there is too much emphasis on weight in pg anyways, it ends up stressing us out, are we gaining too much, "I've gained more than the normal 11-16kgs", are we not gaining enough, in the end... just make sure you're eating enough for you and baby, and that you are getting all the vitamins, minerals, calcium etc and don't focus on the numbers on the scales...

i didnt read the other responses so no doubt im just repeating what every one says so i appologise in advance but you have nothing to worry about, i to weighed 67 at the start of my pregnancy and had MS up until 34 weeks. in the 1st trimester i lost 9kgs due to being so sick and didnt put on any weight until towards the end (even then i only ended up being 2kgs over my pre pg weight ) but i asked my GP about it at 20-something weeks and she said as long as im eating well and able to keep it down i have nothing to worry about so im sure you dont either. just relax and enjoy the rest of your pg

Well, I'm still around the same - had first birth centre appointment yesterday and I'm 70kg, but belly is definitely growing, so it's all good!

PS Raffy, that picture in your ticker of your little boy is absolutely gorgeous.

Same thing happened with me. During my 2nd pregnancy my m/s was so bad I only gained 6lbs my whole pregnncy and DD came out at almost 8lbs. After I had her I needed all new clothes as I am now 2-3 sizes smaller.

Wow good to hear I'm not the only one on this thread! Lol

I was quite overweight when I fell pregnant to begin with, but I lost 20-25kgs in the first 16 weeks or so due to my severe morning sickness.

Thank GOODNESS I'm better now, but I haven't put on any weight I've lost even still (I don't think?) and I'm over 26 weeks now! (so technically I think that means my bodys still losing weight, but the baby's gaining it all? Lol)

My middies didn't seem to care, most likely because I could still drink some amount of water and keep my vitamins down, and I was overweight to begin with, but still!

I was very worried I'd end up like my sister who had hyperemesis with my niece and was in and out of hosp all pregnancy and had to have anti-nausea drugs for cancer patients to try help calm her down!

Wow! MrsBexie, I think you're the only person (apart from myself) to have EATEN because of m/s! Glad to hear that I'm not the only one, thought I was a little crazy! But I did put on a lot of weight in the 1st trimester also, and kind of plateaued in the 2nd. Still gaining a bit, but not much.

It's funny how different pg can be for everyone! But yes, we should all stop worrying so much, I guess. I find it very hard!
