With this bub my husband found out the gender at our 12 week scan. The sonographer said he could tell with 80% certainty. My hubby then had it confirmed at our 16 week Ob appointment when my Ob scanned bub. And he had it confirmed yet again at our 20 week scan. It stayed the same the whole time. I still have no idea what gender bub is though
With my son we found out at 19 weeks.
With my daughter we knew she was a girl before I was even pregnant with her. She is an ICSI/PGD princess. Sonographer at our 12 week scan wouldn't confirm the gender even though we knew what she was, but it was confirmed at 19 weeks.
Apparently at 12 weeks they don't determine the gender by looking for the actual genitals. It has to do with the angle of the genital tubercle in relation to the lumbosacral skin surface (lower portion of the spine). At 12 weeks the success rate is about 84%, and at 14 weeks it's about 94%. Isn't it amazing what can be seen on ultrasound while the bub is still so tiny?!
I found out at the 20wk scan with all three. With the first two, the sonographer was 100% with DD she wasn't 100% and told me so. She was in fact right, think she was just covering herself
