I am very impatient for my belly button to go from an 'innie' to an 'outie' (Although this also means I will be less able to hide the belly at work for much longer!).
I know that everyone is different but I'm just wondering when others found their stomachs became smooth all over? Does it depend on whether you were carrying a bit of extra weight before the pregnancy or on how you are carrying the pregnancy? At 19 weeks, am I nearly there yet???????
Before I was pg I had a deep innie, I think I was about 20-22weeks when my belly button evened out to the same as the rest of my belly (if that makes sense), I kept thinking any day now it is going to pop... it never did I had bets on with my partner from the start as to wether or not my belly button would pop, neither of us won as it just stretched and kind of dissappeared!
Mine's been popping out a little bit for a couple of weeks now, but it was never very deep to start with so I was expecting it to come out. I don't want a really protruding one, but I guess there's not much I can do about it. I just hope it goes back in afterwards...
KAz- I want mine to pop too!!! Mine was pretty deep and is starting to even out now. I was also crrying a little bit of extra weigth around my tummy before falling pregnant- No washboard abs for me, the last time I saw my abs I was 21!
Mine is a deep innie also and the last 2-3 weeks it's been getting more shallow (if that makes sense!) and now is so small i can't stick my finger in my belly button anymore like i used to be able to
Hasn't popped yet but I sure hope it does!!
My belly is so tight and smooth, has been since I began to show at about 12 weeks. But I noticed just last week that my normally innie belly button is popping out, but only on one side at the moment. Feels funny. I seriously look like I have just swollowed a huge watermelon, other than my bump I haven't put weight on anywhere else, so that just looks weirder if you ask me, I think a little extra weight looks lovely!
My belly button hasalways been a reasonably deep innie. At 25 weeks it has flattened out a lot, one side more so than the other. I assumed from this that it would eventually pop, but my sis (same size and shape as me) says hers stayed like this for her whole pregnancy, so I'm hoping mine won't get much worse.
In the past few weeks my belly button has become much more shallow. I've also noticed that I can make my belly button into an outie if I pull the skin around my belly button tight! It looks so funny! Have no idea if it will 'pop' out - I hope so!
Oooh thanks for all your replies girls! They've been very enlightening - I am so clueless it didn't even occur to me that it wouldn't pop out!!
I would be happy with a flattened out/stretched version but from some of your experiences I might be waiting a while yet. I feel self conscious wearing tighter mat tops because you can see the 'crater' and it is not a good look It is starting to become less deep though so I will keep my fingers crossed.
Devon - I'll happily swap buttons with you now darl! It's always the way that you get what you don't want. I really hope your belly button returns to normal afterwards.
Puppies - I'm quite sure I've got an extra few kilos I could donate to you too I am certain you look gorgeous! I think it looks better when its all belly myself.
My belly button was very deep and it never popped. Who is to say it wouldn't have in the last 6 weeks, if I did not have a premie. I don't think it would have ever popped. though.
