The cheese is not gonna be a problem, as it his heated through. But be aware that swiss cheese fondue is made with (lots) of wine! Basically in a swiss fondue you dissolve grated cheese in about a litre (or half - depending on how big the fondue is) of white wine and some Kirsch (clear sherry)! Some of the alcohol evaporates during the cooking process, but not all.
But maybe you are lucky and she doesn't make it the original way. If she just uses melted cheese without the wine, you should be fine! HTH
Forgot to add: Swiss cheese fondue is not made from soft cheeses, but hard cheeses, like Gruyère, Emmenthaler etc
