As you are on your own ( without kidlets yet ) maybe you could ring up a few local old folks homes and see if they have anyone there who will be alone and willing to have a visitor or see if you can help out in a shelter for the homeless or something, as it will take your mind of been alone...

otherwise just take it for what it is another day closer to you both get to be together again
