Baby kicking less

Hey guys

I'm not sure if this is anything I need to worry about, but the further along you get I'm assuming baby is running out of room and isn't going to leap around as much. I've noticed today I'm not getting as much or as strong movement/kicks. I had a coffee to see if it that would wake baby up a bit, but nothing. Last night was the same but I figured baby might have been asleep.. but it's now been close to 24 hours without a big wham.

Should I be getting my butt of BellyBelly and calling my midwife ASAP?

Definitely call midwife, there is no harm in getting everything checked out.

I took myself off to hospital today to get monitored as I hadn't felt the little man move since a few contractions last night.

Not even acupuncture, ice, massage, cold drink this morning worked.

Hospital managed to wake him up after around an hour on the ctg machine but even they were initially concerned.

Yes. Whilst some people say bub slows down towards the end, generally that isn't true. Go get checked out.

Has there been any movement at all? Download a kick counter app or just write it down. It's a good way to keep track of movements.

Don't panic Hun. Just call your hospital where you're going to have bub and ask when it's a good time to have some monitoring. I'm having it every 2 days - they'll just put a couple of straps around your belly and monitor the heartbeat, movements, your heartbeat and it will show if you're having contractions it's very reassuring

Please don't panic - as PAC said its reassuring the monitoring that they do! Flutters are good

Definitely don't panic. DD3 definitely slowed down/got less violent with kicks and gave me quite a few anxious moments. I went to get monitoring after a paticularly quiet period. She was fine, but the midwife sent me home after monitoring telling me to come back if I had any more concerns at all. You won't be wasting their time and they would much rather you be safe than sorry too, so go and get checked so you can relax.

Don't panic

Shoopy has been super quiet the last few days, but has picked up again this afternoon. No big boots, but some definite movements - At the moment it feels like she's pushing against me with he hands. Give the hospital a call and have a chat to the MW. As everyone has said, better safe than sorry.

I've found a lot of movements now are more squirming than kicks - if I'm just sitting or lying I sometimes don't feel them at all but when I rest my hands on my belly I realise I can feel legs and feet sliding about.

If you're worried then as the others have said go in to get it checked out. It's much better to have a false alarm.

PLEASE get checked out. I reported similar feelings before my daughter was stillborn at 41 weeks. As we live a long way from the hospital they just asked questions and I probably didn't go in for monitoring early enough. If they suggest induction because of reduced movement please agree. There was no other indication there was a problem except reduced movement. Don't be brave, see someone.

The movements definitely change in the last trimester - not such big kicks as such, more like rolls under your skin or subdued movement. I've always found a nice cold drink of OJ to be the wakeup remedy to get bubs to give me some reassuring movement, but I agree with the others, always best to get things checked out if you are worried
