Unhappy Baby measuring a week behind, what do they do for that?

As the title says i had my ultrasound today and while im exactly 34 weeks today bub is only measuring to 33 weeks 1 day.

At each of my ultrasounds bub was either only a day or 2 off but at the last one she was a bit over.

Is this something they will be concerned about?

    What generally happens from here?

I am very upset about it

but on the upside the placenta is perfect its moved up

I wouldnt think it would be anything to be too concerned about? Try not to get too upset

Hopefully someone else with a little more experience will shed a little light on the situation!

    Yay for placenta moving!

I was told they allow 10 days either side when I had my 18week scan, so I wouldn't think 1 week would be too bad maybe you just have a little bubba try not to stress too much

    yay for the placenta moving.

as for the size of your baby i wouldnt worry too much. DS was born at 34+3 weeks and the day before i had him, the sonographer said he was measuring at 40 weeks and 3.5 kg. when he was born he was only 2.71kg. they are just a guide and not always right.

Meh - its only 6 days difference. Try not to worry. Last time she might have just had a growth spurt, and maybe she's just about to have another one.

    I wouldn't worry at all.

trust me, u have a right to feel this way. i know how u feel. i had a horrible pregnancy but at the end i had a gorgeous little boy that i could cuddle and love and just cherish overall. i know its easier said then done (been there, done that) but try not to worry as your little one will be her in 6 weeks give or take!

i never belive anything they say about size in late pregnancy, they told me that DD2 was a FEW weeks behind for dates, 2 days later she was born weighing 3550 and 50cms long 4 weeks early! definetly NOT behind for dates if u ask me!

I wouldn't worry, the later on in the pregnancy the more inaccurate their growth measurements get, hence why you get a dating scan done as soon as possible if you aren't sure of dates, because the later you do it the more chance their date according to measurements will be incorrect.

If it was say 2 weeks then I might be a little concerned, but one week is nothing really

Baby measuring a week behind, what do they do for that?

I am always a week behind I have been with all three but the girls although early were healthy and bigger than expected. Expecting the same this time. They only really worry when you are two or more weeks out, hang in there and enjoy your last few weeks.

    Thanks ladies.

I'm starting to feel a bit better. I guess its natural to worry when you're told something like this.

I just haven't had very nice midwives or doctors so i know ill be made to feel bad or they will make me worry about something. DP has said if they do he will say something, i have had enough to worry about.

Completely fine I wouldn't give it another thought! Measurements are subjective & it's 6 days which is absolutely nothing. Don't worry at all.

Im sure my ob just doesnt tell me unless i ask, he knows how anxious i get!, but as others have said a week or so either side is really no cause for concern, i think when it gets close to two weeks then they may suggest something

don't forget hun, they need to have smaller and larger babies to make up the 'average' baby.
FWIW DS measured nearly 38 weeks at my 34 weeks scan...I was scared I was growing a monster.....fairly inaccurate in late stages.

No need to worry! Imagine if we were all measured to determine our age. I would be about 10 years old!! lol. Babies, like adults come in all shapes and sizes. They're not all identical and measure the same. Bubs is a week behind the 'average' not a week behind what she's supposed to be itms. She growing just how she's meant to

When you ladies say it like that i dont feel so awful.

In a way atleast im glad shes not a monster (although she feels like she is), i dont think i could push out a 10 pound baby! LOL
