Question is this the beginning of labour?

    Hi there!

I'm up cause I'm excited and unsure! I was pottering round the house bout an hour ago and felt something wet - I checked and had a bit of clear mucus. It's not gushing or anything and I've put a pad on. Is this the start? My pubic bone area has been tender but not painful today as well. Are these good signs?

    you must be excited Jordie!
but you should prob try and get some sleep or atleast rest now as if it is the start of labour you need all your energy and stamina.
are u having any tightenings/ contractions?
if your pad continues to get wet it may be you waters started leaking, and u should ring the hospital.
sometimes pre labour occurs but does not trigger actual labour for some time, but im hoping for you this is the begining and bub is on its way! good luck

The mucous actually sounds like your show hun. And sorry to say it might just mean that labour is going to start in a few days. Or you might very well go today. A show is just a sign that your cervix is ripening.

Hope you got some sleep in

How exciting for you it means bubs is getting ready to come, but... (And I Don't want to rain on your parade), but as Trish says it could just mean that it will start in a few days/weeks. My show started to come away about 2 wks before my waters started leaking and then my hind waters leaked for 3days before I went to hospital and was induced. Good luck, I hope things go quickly for you!! And get some rest, you'll have your bub here soon.

Sounds very promising. Sorry if TMI (but hey, if you are in labour you are headed for real TMI territory LOL!) but if the discharge smells "sweet" it could be your waters.
