Ah I know what you're going through! I'm not sure about the period pain, a lot of women say they get period like pain early in labor, so maybe it's your stuff stretching getting ready for the birth?

Sorry that's not really an answer, I'll be interested to hear what others say because I've had the same pains...

Ive started getting the period type pains too. I am now 37 weeks, so I figure they are my body getting ready for labour. I've read that early labour commonly starts as period like pains....so I am hopeful! But then I've also read they can go on for weeks before anything happens!

I've had them to for about 2 weeks now and i am just over 37 weeks. Some actually are very painful that i need to lay down. Not sure if they are Bh but it seems like you said its very common.
