    Bruising on tops of feet?

    Hi

For the past couple weeks the tops of my feet have been sore. Not swollen, not red.. just sore and tender. I put it down to not resting enough. But then I would notice I would wake up randomly during the night and they would start hurting. Now... its not my feet as such, its the tops of my feet.

So today they started doing their random tenderness/hurting feelings and I looked down and where they are hurting there are 2 big bruises on both feet :S I havent knocked them and I have huge feet, so I tend not to wear shoes at all unless they are thongs.

    What could be causing this??

This happened to me as they were swelling- like the skin was being stretched.
It was summertime and bloody painful!

Hey lovely lady, is it def not just your shoes leaving marks/indents etc? I get this sometimes but I don't notice until the swelling goes down a bit.

Yep I elevate them as often as I can. I ended up with severe P.E last time so I dont want to go down that path again.. But my feet arnt really swelling. I meant my feet are huge in the way that they are size 14 lol.

Yeah I guess it could be... The bruises arnt really where my shoes are but it could be possible. Ill keep an eye on that and see if I can find a link between them.. thanks

i'm finding my feet don't really swell but if i've been standing much they feel quite bruised on the top. i have quite bad circulation and think it may be related to that.

Thanks for your reply Catetay I tested the theroy today and didnt wear shoes all day. They were pretty good (bruised but not very visable) this morning but tonight my bruises are back. So I think it has something with being on my feet most of the day. I have antenatal on thursday so will ask them and let you know what they say.

I had really bad swelling when I was pregnant but my feet never looked bruised - felt like it though! However after I had my DD I remember looking at my feet a few days later and the swelling had gone down but it was like their was a little fluid pocket right next to my ankle bone - it was incredibly sore and was black - looked like a bruise. The only thing that gave me some relief was massages by my hubby, it hurt but afterwards felt better and the fluid eventually went. However because you are still pregnant you may have a while before the fluid goes away!

Yeah I would definately ask them, bruising can be harmless but can also be a sign of other not so nice things. I have my fingers crossed for you its just your shoes annoying your feet X

Doctor had no idea but wasnt too concerned. She was more worried about my sudden rise in BP

Hate to be a downer but sounds like you could be heading for PE again. Any changes in your vision? What about your hands any change in them? Hope I am asking for nothing xoxo

Only reason I asked was cause I had PE with my twins and I ticked all the boxes that you have mentioned including protein in my urine. How many weeks are you sorry my phone doesn't show tickers!

Hi MM, just wanted to see how you are doing? I have mild PE & in the last few days have gotten the bruising! My feet have been swelling most days but the last couple the tops have been so so sore! My OB is keeping an eye on it, but just wanted to let you know I'm right there with you
