i think it really depends on how the individual baby feels comfy. DS didn't seem to like being wrapped from the word go, so we never did wrap him. He slept in the cot straight away. We used a fitted sheet on the bottom, on top we used flat sheet then cotton thermal blanket doubled over then polar fleece blanket doubled over. We added or took away blankets as we needed. HTH.
