Really bad leg pain at 34wks?

My right leg has been aching all morning, sometimes it feels like a cramp but then dulls down to a throbbing ache. Its right from my toes all the way up to my hip and there doesn't seem to be anything I can do to relieve it! I don't know if the aching is in my muscles or my joints or if one of the babies is pressing on a nerve somewhere

I've got pretty bad fluid retention in both my lower legs, could it be fluid? Do you ladies think I should call/go to the hospital?

I had this when I was having DD - she'd shifted into a position where she was pressing on a nerve in my lower back that had me bent double with pain and it was all down one leg only. I'd try maybe encouraging them to move positions a bit by (if possible) leaning on hands and knees with your arms stretched out so your head is as low as possible, or going to the pools to walk in the water (bliss). If it's not responding or gets severe though, definitely call the hospital.

Hmm, I would ring and ask maternity if you should be concerned.....

GO and get it checked. If movement or rest etc isn't relieving it it may be something else (DVT comes to mind, but i could most certainly be wrong!) Better to have it checked than be sorry later IMO.

Could be sciatica (sp?), I had it mildly - OB recommended magnesium I think

A GF ended up with it so bad (basically baby pushing on nerves) she walked with a cane for the final weeks of her pregnancy, it wasn't until she gave birth that the pain went away

    Go get it checked

I was going to say sciatica as well. I found a heat pack helped a bit with the nerve pain. Ouch!

    Thanks Ladies,

I had a sleep and it seems to have gone for now...its just weird because it woke me up when I was sleeping earlier.

I don't think its sciatica because I've suffered from that chronically for the last 10 years or so and it was a very different pain to the usual. Its been bad during my pregnancy but not like this. My sciatica doesn't effect my joints like this did and it doesn't normally effect much past my thigh, its more in the buttocks and hip, but gets triggered when I move other parts all the way to my toes, but those parts themselves don't hurt if that makes sense?

I think it might have been a baby pressing down on a different nerve, but if it comes back I'll call the hospital to see what they think.
