Did you take EPO and/or RLT? Both with DD3, RLT only with DD1 and DD2
When did you start? RLT 34 weeks with DD1-born at 36+2 (PPROM), 35 weeks DD2-born at 35+6 (PPROM), 36 weeks with DD3 born at 37+4 EP) orally from 36 weeks with DD3 then internally from 37 weeks
Do you think it made a difference? Unable to tell as I took RLT with all three and had a very similqr time for active labour with each girl (approx 6-6.5hrs). I was concerend that not taking it may have made a difference so I had it with each pregnancy
Were you having a VBAC? No
If you decided not to take them, why? N/A
My midwife suggested it for my first pregnancy. After having a preterm birth I discuseed it with my midwife and the hospital ob (I saw one with each subsequent pregnancy once as I had a preterm birth) neither suggested it would have caused the preterm births but I delayed taking it slightly each time and they all came at slightly different gestations.
With DD3 I was taking the highest reccommended dosage of RLT on the packet but had to back off as it was making my BH uncomfertable and I got a bit crampy with it. With the EPO I also had a half dose of the reccommended as TMI but I got the runs with the higher dose
Internal EPO is messy and best done at night with a pad on. I am not a tea drinker so was taking RL Extract tablets by blackmores. My girls birth stories are in my sig if you wanted to see how my labours progressed, what impact the EPO/RLT had on either I have no idea but if I was pregnant again I would take them again. Also DD1 was early but only in SCN for 8 hrs due to being slightly cool and DD2 was early and we went home the next day, my midwife and I both think I grow my babies quickly as DD2 and DD3 were like full term bubs when born in terms of size/feeding and breathing
