Thank you all so much for your kind wishes & prayer. Each & every post has touched me.
Thanks Csab for creating this thread & also Ren for keeping everyone updated.
My waters broke at 4am on Wednesday. I rang the hospital (Pindara) & they told me to come straight in. They put me on the CTG to check bubs HR, which is fine, & see if there were any contractions. There wasn't. The Ob did an internal & a swab & confirmed it was my waters. I was transferred, by ambulance, up here to Brisbane as they specialise in premmie bubs. I had another huge water break at 1am this morning, like a flood, but the med staff aren't concerned as they were clear, & I still have no labour signs at all.
I have been allocated an Obstetrician who has basically said that if I go into labour before Saturday they will stop it, to give time for the steriods to work but if I go after Saturday they'll deliver him. The Ob at Pindara said I'll be lucky to last 2 weeks & definately won't last to 37. DH & I are ok with it all. There is a 95% survival rate after 30weeks & it just means our bub will be two months behind on all his milestones.
I was so so so not ready but know we will cope. We have lots of great support & thankfully my Sydney baby shower was a hit. We had 30 people there & literally got everything we needed. DH even set up the cradle on Tueday.
I will be here in Brisbane until I deliver the baby or I hit 34weeks. Pindara will take us back at 34 weeks where bub will stay till he's strong enough to go home. I will have to go to the hospital every 4 hours to feed him. If I give birth here, then I will find a hotel room close by until they transfer him back to Pindara.
I will keep you all updated as things progress.
And once again, thank you all so much for your support. Please keep it coming
You are so welcome Georgi hunni. Heres hoping your little man stays put until after Saturday long enough for the steriods to do its job. We are all here offering our love and support to you. Lots of
I'm so impressed by your wonderful optimism!! That tells me right there that you'll be a great mum to your little man. Amazing that you're not freaking out (although I'm sure you did a bit of that, too). You really know how to keep a steady head and you're very practical, which is so commendable. The doctors must you, I bet you're getting lots of attention up there from all the hospital staff.
I'm so glad your baby shower was a success and you got everything, verrrry uncanny timing, that. At least your husband isn't running around like a headless chicken trying to stock up on baby essentials.
Georgi,
I'm so glad you have your laptop! I bet you are glad too! So good to read your post. I'm glad your DH managed to set the cradle up! I was even going to suggest if your DH needs any help at all with anything, give him my mobile number and i can help out in any way if you need it ok? So please don't hesitate to ask! I'm not far away.
That message i sent you for bubs yesterday must have helped! I'll send you another one....here it is.... "little man, listen up, you need to stay put because STILL your Mummy and Daddy can't compromise on a name they both like for you so you will just have to wait until they have decided. Another thing, you need to stay nice and warm and cozy in your Mumma's womb because TBH, it's just cold outside at the moment and spring hasn't even arrived yet!! So hang on a little bit longer for Mummy and keep growing nice and strong. We all can't wait to meet you but only when you are ready."
Big hugs Georgi xxx can't wait to come see you Sat.
You're doing so well stay strong
