Hi I just wanted to drop in and say a huge good luck!
    The Mater is fantastic!!
Also to let you know there is a Ronald McDonald House just across the road from the Mater (Behind one of the car parks, near Vulture Street) definately ask one of the social workers and they should be able to sort you out

    Hey Georgi,
    Keep your chin up,
I know it can be a horrible to be stuck in hospital and especially with the onset of labor due to coming knocking at anytime.
Takecare and look after yourself, we're all thinking of you!

Ok girls... I think I fixed the blog issue. I ticked a few boxes. Can you try again & let me know....

    I have some GREAT news.....

I requested a well being ultra sound this morning & they got me in straight away..... This is how the results came back

He is measuring perfect for his gestation (weighing 1862g / 4lbs) & presents in the head down position. The placenta is NOT low. The fetal biometry & amniotic fluid volume are both in the normal range for gestation (Obviously my body is doing well to re produce the fluid considering how much I am losing).

The umbilical cord is functioning perfectly & the cervix appears closed & no funnelling is seen.

His head is very low down which is not common for this gestation, though considering the cervix is not funnelling, we aren't too concerned about it.

So all in all we are travelling great guns & there is definately no labour signs here.

We're praying to make it to the 34 week mark & this ultra sound has certainly given us the hope.

We'll continue to keep you all informed.

Once again, thank you all for your support. Your posts are so warming & encouraging.

Georgi - That is the best news. I am so happy the scan went well. That is such a hopeful sign that your little man will continue to stay nice and comfy where he is. So hoping he likes it that much that he will stay well after 34wks. Lots of

REN Looking so forward to it

JODI Thanks. I do feel like my body is working appropriately

CSAB Imagine if I last till 37wks. That'd be great wouldn't it. I'm not that confident though

KRISTI Thanks so much. I was just looking through your belly buddies thread, wondering if I should drop in to say hello, but I thought It would be best to not get into that frame of mind. Hoping to hold out into Sept at least

The Ob on duty come to see me this morning. He went through my scan results & said all is good. He said 50% of people in my situation will still continue to deliver within the next 7 days. The pressure of the baby's head being so low, can still cause the cervix to start funnelling. So let's pray i'm in that other 50%, which I am confident I will be.

I finally had a full nights sleep last night. Went to bed at 10.30 & woke up at 5.30am. I must've been out cold cause the midwife said she came into my room twice (to take my obs) & both times I was sleeping sound so she didn't want to disturb me.

Bub has been moving around like crazy so I know he is happy in there.

Georgi - Morning hun, I have to say it would be soooo awesome for you to make it that far. I am still going to hold onto some hope that you will especially with all the water you have lost and to still have within normal limits around bubs. Yet even getting past 34weeks would be soooo wonderful hun. Also each day that goes by with your little man staying inside is a bonus. BTW excellant news once again. Has anymore water leaked?

KURAIZA Yep, I feel like my body is doing the right thing. I have faith in it

CSAB I am leaking pretty much continuously, but luckily I haven't had a big break since Thursday morning. The Ob has told me that with the bub being so low, over my cervix, he could be stopping some of the fluid from coming out. So I guess there's a good chance I can have another huge gush

Here's a snipet from my blog about our NICU tour today. It was great!

We had a tour of the Intensive Care Unit today. I was great to see where our little man is likely to end up. We had a nurse show us around & he explained the process & what generally happens in there. He took us straight to a little boy who was about a week old & was born at 31weeks. He was 1500g, so small, so so cute. It was amazing to see what size my bub could be inside me. Although he seemed so small, it was hard to believe my bub, in my tummy, is that big. Then he took us to the 27week premie, and oh my, that hit home. She was tiny. Just 700g. So amazing to see this little baby alive in this outside world.

DH was great through it all as he pushed me in my wheelchair. He's so strong & confident. I think he is the reason I can be strong. We just know everything will be ok.

My sister was with us too, but she didn't handle it well. She has 3 babies (3yo, 2yo & 1yo) and started tearing up at the 1st baby we saw. When we got to the little 27weeker, she had to back off. DH & I were good though.

I'm still confident we have at least another week. My first milestone is to get to 32 weeks next Tuesday. Seeing that little boy has made me realise it's not that bad. He was no where near as little as that little girl.

BETTYBOOP Thanks for dropping in. Congrats on your BFP. Sending you many sticky vibes

Not too much to report here. I'm just waiting for the Ob to drop in so I can get something for this stuffed up nose I have. It's terrible. This air con is taking it's toll.

I'm 31+5 today so am looking forward to hitting 32wks on Tuesday. I'll just feel so much better once I get to 32wks. Then I'm going to be looking forward to 34wks. Geez I hope I can hang out till then, that way bub should be right to breathe on his own & he'll only need to be tube fed for a week or so.

I can't believe this is my 5th day in hospital. I've never been in hospital before. Only when I had the D&C last Oct, but I didn't even stay overnight. It has gone real quick. You'd think it'll drag on, but no... I'm pretty comfortable. This internet is definately keeping me company. The midwives always stay for a little chat when they are doing my obs too. So that gives me some social life lol.

Renstar came to visit yesterday. She bought me some mags & some beautiful body wash. Oh & some choccies... yummo!

My dad is coming to visit today too. I kinda feel bad having them travel over an hour to visit me. And once they get here it's just so boring.

Georgi, you're doing so well!! I'm glad you're feeling so comfortable there, must be a good team at the Mater. Hope you get something for your nose. Mine's been driving me mad for weeks so I've been using saline sprays and steaming and "breathe easy" essential oils in the bedroom - I know how you're feeling in that regard. Hard to sleep when you can't breathe!

for Renstar visiting and bringing all those goodies! Perfect! And it's great that your dad can visit you, it will take your mind off things for a bit at any rate

Tuesday's milestone is looking safe, fingers crossed (and everything else) for the 34-week target!

Hey Georgi So good to see you yesterday you are doing so well and so positive so keep it up!
Hope you're enjoying those mags!! That should help pass the time for a bit anyway.

It was so exciting seeing your little man moving around your belly and i got to feel his back it was just amazing!! I've never had that experience before!

I tell you what though, it took me about half an hour to find the car!! That hospital is HUUUUGE!! Good luck finding your way out when it's time to leave hopefully someone will be helping you out anyway!! it's just a big hospital! Have you had your room upgraded yet?? Room with a view? Hope so!!

Glad your Dad is coming up to see you today. Enjoy the company.

I'll check up on you tomorrow via BB xxo
