A friend of mine is in her 3rd trimester and a school teacher and has head lice. She is really stressing as she's been told the treatments can't be used in pregnancy. Does anyone know if there are any natural treatments that can be used? TIA.
Put white conditioner on your hair and put a shower cap on and sit somewhere really warm. After 1/2 hr comb out with a nit comb. Not as good as the really killer treatments but better than nothing. There maybe some natural products on the market too.
i second the conditioner idea
u can get thias stuff in a yellow bottle which is natural but i dont think i would be able to stomach it in pregnancy tee tree oil is pretty strong
Oil (Olive, veg etc) works quite well as well. Like the conditioner it need regular applications and combings. When I used it on DD1's head the first time the lice were trying to escape her head. The oil basically suffocates them.
Yeah, do the conditioner, cheap conditioner is best - the good stuff is too thick and creamy to see whether you're still getting nits/lice out.
Make sure she repeats this every few days until she's getting no more critters & then do it again one last time to make sure. The trick with the conditioner cure is consistency.
my DD came home from Daycare with headlice not long ago and I managed to get them too. Cause I am in my third tri I wasn't able to use the solution. But I was told like everyone else has said to use the conditioner and then the comb. I was also told once you have rinsed your hair to finish off with white vinegar and then dry as normal. This worked wonders. I did it for a week.
