    Increased BP before labour?

I just had an appointment with my midwife this morning, and my BP was up a little. She mentioned that sometimes that is a sign of impending labour, and I was curious if anyone else experienced something similar, and if so, when did labour start? I know I should be mentally prepared to go another 2-3 weeks, but I'm getting so impatient! I'm ready! I'm so tired and achey and feel like my nerves are frazzled to the end! (my kids have got bad colds, and are somewhat miserable. ) So someone tell me I'm getting close, and that this baby is coming SOON!!!

Yes, I had the same thing a couple of days before James was born. My waters broke, nothing was going on, but my BP was up slightly so stayed in the hospital for observation overnight and went home the next day. I had started having contractions at that time as well...James arrived the following evening.

I'll be looking out for that again this time round.

PS...he arrived spot on his due date too.

My BP was up a little yesterday at my check up, I hope it's a good sign you're getting my hopes up lol

My BP rose for the first time ever in my life 2 days before Nina was born. My dr said to me that I'd be having this baby on the weekend, which I did.

Yay Cricket!! I hope so, I just had my appoint too, and mine was up slightly (although not very much!).
When you say up slightly, what was it, and what is it usually?

    Come on babies!!

I've normally been about 90/60 or so, during this pregnancy. (Lower than with the other two.) This visit I was at 112/70. But part of me wonders how much of that is due to me being so wound up about this baby coming! I'm creating symptoms! But I REALLY hope that truly things are starting to happen. I do have a fair bit of cramping and back ache, and the head is settled well down (the midwife couldn't move it around anymore), and my bowels seem quite loose, but the sign that I'm really waiting for - losing the plug and getting some bleeding - is not happening. That was what happened right before I went into labour with both girls. With Marieke, I noticed the show at night, getting up to go to the bathroom (for the 1000th time!) and by the time I got back in bed, I had the first contraction, and the next five minutes later.
Anyways, let's hope that we'll all deliver lovely healthy babies this weekend, after easy short labours.

Nope, still sitting here. Lost a bit of plug, so that's somewhat promising. No spotting or show, though. Not to crampy either, which is good, I guess, although I'd love something to be happening! Plenty of painless BH, so maybe they're doing all the prep-work, and my labour will be short, and sweet. Here's hoping! I have one more day of DH at home (it's Thanksgiving here tomorrow - holiday!) and it would be really nice if he was here from the start, rather than having to call him from work.

My blood pressure was up a little with #1 a 4-5 days before I went into labour, but prior to that had been consistently on the low end of normal. I can't remember for #2. All the best
