Lots of BH and increased discomfort...

I have been having BH since around 16 weeks and almost every day too. But the last 5 days or so they have increased a bit and I am also feeling very uncomfortable most of the time. Do BH increase the further along you are?
Also I've been sleeping great up until about a week ago and now I am waking up 10-15 times a night with aching hips, like I'm sleeping on a slab of concrete. I have ample pillows and a good mattress, but nothing seems to be working. It's day 5 of minimal sleep and I feel so tired and drained and dizzy. I know this is all normal later in pregnancy, but I am only 30 weeks

Basically I have had a pretty good pregnancy up until about 5 days ago. Sound normal or not?

Yep, as your uterus grows you feel the bh more often. Try putting one if your pillows between your knees to help with your hips (lots if people say that helps, I still wake every few hrs and need to turn over from being sore on the side I'm sleeping on tho) I found folding a doona and sleeping on it helps a bit too. Or see a chiro

All sounds normal, unfortunately. I had to turn over frequently in bed because of hip pain. Exactly like you said, feels like you've been sleeping on concrete It goes away pretty much as soon as bub is born though.

The BH getting stronger and more frequent is normal too.
Not too much longer for you now though, you're in the home stretch

Thanks little_mrs and Willow I have a body pillow I use and another one behind me ready for when I roll over lol. I just feel so uncomfortable every day lately! Work has been really busy, but I am only doing 6 hour shifts at the moment. I saw the physio, but she basically said it's just part of pregnancy, even though every time I see my OB and have to lay down to have the doppler I can barely get back up because my pelvis spasms. Oh 10 more weeks, can't come soon enough..! But glad it all (unfortunately) normal.

Yeah, I have been surprised as to how good I've felt until 5 days ago!! Whenever I lean forward to put socks on or tie my shoelaces I feel something digging in under my rib cage. And I know what you mean with the bladder. All day at work I had to stop what I was doing because I thought I was going to pee myself! Not pleasant at all

    Actually, I have another question....

When does BH become something to worry about? I've been having them about every hour or two today...

All very normal. Here's a to get you through hehehe.

BH would be concerning if they were becoming stronger, longer and closer together, as well as more painful than just annoyingly uncomfortable. For eg, if they were happening every 10mins or so for an hour or so...... and if lying down and resting, or doing the opposite if you're already doing that don't stop them or change them.

They always seem to start during the day when I'm at work and then continue till I go to bed. They happen even when I am just sitting on the couch. I have to just close my eyes and breath through it. But it doesn't last very long, only about 15 seconds. I see my OB on Monday so I will definitely mention it. Thanks for the hug

Mine happen at all random times..... seems to be especially when sitting. 15 seconds sounds normal, I wouldn't sweat it. But of course mention it to your OB.

    Here have another lol

Just a different spin on this... At 30 weeks, my SIL was getting constant and increasingly painful BH for a few days. Well she thought it was BH, but it was labour.
I don't want to scare you, but if it gets worse, there's no harm in calling the hospital for an opinion.

Lots of BH and increased discomfort...

If you are having to breath through them and them happening consistently until you rest I would be leaning towards them being more serious than just BH, it might be worth going and being checked and see if a midwife can feel them or have a ctg to see what is happening. This was always a sign things were starting to happen with all three of my kids labour started at 34 weeks with each only I didn't realize with dd1, we were able to keep the second two baking longer.

I was told by the midwife to time them after the bleed last week. I have them in regular patterns for up to 2 hours, about 15-20mins apart and nealy a minute long, then they happen sporadically about 1 or 2 an hour. I was told to head in of the pattern lasted for 4+ hours, they were 10mins apart or I felt something wasnt right. I dont find them painful- but they are uncomfortable and make me pause. If you are in pain or feel something is up I would head in and get checked hun

As a funny side note- my BH have stopped completely both times I've been put on CTG so if you are looking for an hours relief maybe head in anyway lol
