With DS? The pantry HAD to be completely cleaned and organised
With DD? The ensuite cupboard HAD to be sorted, organised and ready for when she arrived home
Moo - I was obsessed with cooking, vac sealing and freezing meals to fill up my brand new chest freezer, I even blanched my own vegetables...couldn't get the broccoli smell out of the house for days! I also couldn't stop buying groceries and took over our linen cupboard to store it all in. But that was great as I didn't have to buy toilet paper or washing detergent for over 12 months! I also had overwhelming urges to squirrel away cash 'just in case' lol
Buster - house had to be immaculate, I hired a weekly house cleaner. Got our not that old carpets drycleaned, as well as our couches. I got my car detailed which took the place the entire day to do but looked awesome...for about a dayI couldn't stop buying things for Moo - I ended up with sooo much stuff for him such as cars, books, crafty things, arty stuff from Spotlight, DVDs...I had it all packed away for after the baby came, no idea what for but I couldn't stop! It has all come in handy as I've been able to give him little things when I need some time or space for his little brother. Oh and I also just HAD to have this particular xmas tree from Target. Cracked it in our local store when they didn't have any in stock, made my hubby phone around to find one and marched in to buy it...it's massive but looks awesome!

this thread is hilarious!! mine are pretty mundane, i reorganised the kitchen cupboards twice in the 3rd trimester with DS and i also ate frozen raspberries with black and gold vanilla icecream (no other brand was ok, to the point of DH having to return one tub!!) every night and sometimes for lunchi also rearranged the lougeroom and nursery multiple times and washed and ironed everything i could get my hands on (my biggest bout of ironing brought on a haemorage at 31wks), a week before DS came i HAD to sort thru all my makeup and creams etc (of which i have far too many) and cull the ones i wasnt using/didnt want and ended up throwing out heaps of stuff i regretted later.
I scrubbed the outside of my kitchen cupboards and put all our CDs on iTunes. The CDs were an awesome way to rest and wait for baby. DD was born the next day so if I get ghat urge this time, I'll know to be ready!
I HAD to have the house fumigated and finish knitting a baby blanket. I let the pest man in at 11:00, went out and took my knitting with me. I finished the blanket at about 2:30 and DD was born just before 4:54!
But that must be my personality type - I am always the same...always get things done just in the nick of time!
I've got all of our photos up to date, in the albums, and in frames which are (just now) up on the walls.
I've gone through all of our paperwork, and it's all in order now.
I've started getting the garden in order ...
Pantry might be next on my list... but I'll sleep on it ...
For Ellen (who didn't make it home to enjoy it) I had to totally remodel the stables.....new yards were built and a whole new verandah. I also got a new room built on the back of the house including a bike storage space for hubby push bikes so the garage was organised and not full of bikes.
For DS I had to have heaps of meals cooked and frozen and the bathroom and kitchen spotless and I had to pack and re-pack my hospital bag over and over. I also had to have the garage, feed shed and stables de-spiderwebbed and tidy spotless and organised! I also did load of fencing during my 2nd pregnancy. I guess that's nesting on a sort of farmy scale!
With ds I nested the whole pregnancy. Constantly rearranged the nursery! Changed the lounge room around the day I went in to be induced....in fact it was the last thing I did before leaving lol. At about 32weeks I scrubbed our verandah with an old rag....wanted to do the celing however I realised that was impractical and impossible not to get in my face. Constantly cleaned out the car. Rearranged our wardrobes (as in the clothes in them) n got rid of huge garbage bags of clothes.
This pregnancy ive already done the wardrobe again and the linen cupboard. Had them done at about 6weeks lol.
With one of my miscarriages, I knew I was pregnancy because I *really* wanted to change the lounge room around again hehe!
