    normal pains?

Well, I'm just over 38 weeks, and I've been having pains in my pubic bone area for a few weeks, which the mw have put down to pressure from bubs head. However, the last couple of days, the pains are now beginning to also go down my thighs, just in the groin sort of area. I did at first think I had overstretched them doing the butterfly pose type sitting at yoga, but its still sore. Also, yesterday, the underside of my belly started to really hurt - like a muscular pain, not period type pains. I did notice that my belly looked like it was hanging a bit lower, so wondered if bubs had dropped slighlty, so maybe this was causing the pain? Last night, my bits and underside of my stomach was really sore, and whenever I stand up,it takes me a few minutes to be able to walk without it being really painful - I look like an old lady! So anyway, are these pains normal? I'm seeing my mw tomorrow, but thought I would see if anyone else had similar pains and could give me an explanation.

    Thanks in advance
    Sam

    Hi Sam,
I am at the same stage as you, only 5 days to go for me. I have had the pelvic pain for weeks now and my stonach has also dropped (alot). I have been getting alot of pain in my inner thigh area and down below, its a kind of grabbing pain and it takes my breathe away and yes makes it difficult to walk. The pressure sometimes in my pelvis almost feels like the baby is ready to come out. I asked my ob about it last time i went and he assured me it was normal. I would still ask your tomorrow though as we are all different. Good luck. Not long now...

I'm right at the same stage as you girls, and I have all the same pains.

Between the BH, pelvic bone pain, back pain, period like cramps and these muscle pains- EVERYTHING just hurts!!

I feel like such an old lady. I grunt all the time and need my husband to help get me off the couch!!

I checked with my midwife, and yep, they're all normal pains - she always looks happy to hear about my pain! the most she could recommend was a heat pack and panadol if it gets that bad! my mum took me to their house on her day off for a nice long soak in her bath, and I had the best night sleep i've had for ages - only woke twice to go to the loo! the next night though, back to waking more often, due to things hurting!

My husband has to help me off the couch too - I still do it on my own as well, except a few times, I've almost over balanced and ended back up on the couch, after flailing around my arms for a few minutes to try and right myself - hubby reackons its hilarious!! I am also grunting all the time - i'm spending a lot of time sitting on the floor with my legs wide open and pelvis tilted forward, as recommended by my yoga instructor (who's also a midwife), but its so difficult to get up and down, and the groans that accompany the movement again cause my husband to crack up laughing!
