LOL tell me about it I've had enough for the time being so going to sit down and watch Grey's Anatomy!! Got a whole pile of clothes that I have just washed and gotta pick some out for my bag.

Another Q - what sort of baby bath stuff do you pack?? I have got so many different types of bath stuff and lotion stuff and dont know whats what!! I am planning to pack bed time bath, bed time oil and baby lotion. This OK or do I only need 1 type??

WOW!! I am full of questions today

Gosh you two sound just like I did at the same stage, its hilarious!! I think we must all get like this by week 35. I made so many little trips to Target and could never decide on what to buy, half the time I would end up with nothing or something I didnt need.

I stressed out with what to wear during labour etc and I ended up going in a t-shirt and tracksuit pants, then I was going to put one of their gowns on (I wasn't going to get all that yucky stuff on my clothes!) Well, when it came time to change into a gown I was in FULL labour and ended up with the gown going on one arm and it got no further, I just went starkers!! And for me that is something, I SWORE I was NOT going to end up naked, no matter what!! Trust me, you won't give a *bleep bleep* what your wearing during labour.

For breastfeeding I just wore a t-shirt and when I was feeding in the chair I would have one of the hospital blankets on my lap and strategically placed so my belly wasn't exposed, its nice that way as you can put it over bubba too.

Nappies - I just took a small pack of newborn, don't forget hubby or someone else can bring more if needed, but I doubt it.

Hope I am of help, looking forward to reading your birthing threads! So exciting!

I took all of that, I only ended up using the baby bath, newborns don't really need anything else, in fact my midwives think the less the better you put on bubbas skin the better as they shouldn't need it. Funny thing was they give every new mum a welcome pack which includes small samples of the Johnsons range which included baby wipes too, nice touch I thought.

OK, I can say that I am nearly all packed!!!

I have opted to have 3 seperate bags for labour, me and baby. This is mainly because I have chosen to take my own baby stuff so its there if I want to use it. If not, DF can take it home.

For my hospital bag just gotta pack to last minute things like clothes, camera and charger, mobile and charger and toiletries. Might make a list of this tomorrow.

So just got my labour bag to sort out but pretty much have in my head what I want to pack in it!! Need to get another bag off my mum and then I will put everything in.

So I would say that by thursday I should be all ready to go!

Danielle - how did you go???

Chon - I realllllly dont want to end up starkers LOL Might just bit a little bit too weird for my sis who is going to be in the room with us!! But you never know what happens, I probably will end up naked.

    Hey everyone

I have another question to ask as I am currently packing my labour bag!!

Do you need to pack pads in your labour bag or does the hospital supply them once you've had bubs?

I'd say they will give you some to pop on.
But then after it was all over and bub had had some booby, I went and had a shower and put one of mine on.

Veronica, each hospital policy is differnt. My public hospital provides sanitary pads during labour only.

Packing some just in case is a good idea.

    Re Nappies-

Newborns tend to go thru 10 - 12 per day. Use huggies, they really r the best! pack more than u think u'll need just 4 emergencies. also pack more baby clothes than u need. they always poo or vomit on the 1st 1.

Pack @ least 5 pkts sanitary pads. U wont know how heavily ull bleed till u r bleeding. also remeber breast pads, even if u dont plan 2 breastfeed. when the milk comes in ur clothes will b soaked in it.

    Oh,

My hospital provides 18 huggies newborn nappies, and if you run out then you have to provide your own. (a little tip with disposables the midwife gave me was to put a cotton bud in the nappy so you could actually tell they had weed 'cause the huggies ones are sooo absorbent)

For tops I went to jay jays and bought 3 tops for $30 that have buttons half way down. that was the best I could find. I also have a maternity top I got from target months ago, just basic black, that is a feeding one too.

for bubs we have to take all our own stuff, which is fine by me. I've also packed nathan some things. 2 pairs of boxers, 2 pairs of socks, a pair of swimming shorts, a singlet top and some jamie pants (i'm hoping for a special double room, so he can stay past visiting hours).

All I need to pack now is camera, snacks and cash!!! I don't want nathan to have any need to leave once we get there.

In addition to all that there are a few I'm not sure things that I have packed in a backpack, to leave in the car, and they can be retrieved after birth if needed.

I just wish I could pack a McDonalds sunday for after bubs arrives, because i really want one!!!

I'm just sticking a box of the nappies in my boot so if I stay longer than 1st thought I have enuf. u can tell if they have weed by the weight of the nappy and how spongy it is. That's still the only way I can tell with my DD.

Re the macca's sundae, oh yes! there is a maccas just down the street from my hossy so I think I mite have 2 send DH out to get 1! Listeriosis is so rare that when there was an outbreak while I was pg with DD it made the news so I'm much more relaxed bout it this time bcoz of the media hype that came then.

Nappy rash creams - use pawpaw ointment! it's natural and works better than all the others i tried.

This time I am using supre singlets layered under normal tops, just lift the normal top and lower the singlet enuf to not show off my stretch marks but reveal enuf breast for feeding, also works well in shopping centres etc where there is nothing provided 4 comfort . have even answered the front door like this!

If any r doing this 2nd time round (think i'm the only 1 in here but tell me if i'm wrong) pack a pressie for the older child. just 1 2 remember 4 next time if this is ur 1st.

Pack ur own towel. all the hossy 1s r so small n usually a bit scratchy. I like my towel to fit around me properly and I'm on the small side so a beach towel or bath sheet should b a necessity 4 all of u.

Chuck rags are also important coz newborns throw up more than older bubs n u wont know how chucky the bub is till they are doing it. cloth nappies are gr8 4 this.

Pack an eyemask. bub's circadian rhythm will mean it sleeps @ daytime so take every chance while u r visitor free to sleep.

wow another long 1 from me! If I think of anything else ill add it later!
