Is it at the top of your butt and over to the side? Could be your sciatic nerve chucking a spaz. I know mine grabs me with severe pain every time I get up if I've been sitting or sleeping.
Basically just as the title says lol
Is it normal to get pain through the butt?
I can't even walk at the moment without being in agony because of it. I don't remember getting any pain through the butt like this with DS, it was all in the hips, lower pack and front of the pelvis with him.
It was only at the start of the week that it felt like Little Miss was starting to engage (lots of pelvic discomfort and pain down around my v jay jay with the beginnings of the bowling-ball-between-the-legs feeling, even my OB said that it felt like she was starting to move into position when I saw him on wednesday), then on wednesday morning just before dawn I had 3 contractions in about 15 minutes before I fell asleep again, followed by another two contractions in the 2 hours after I woke up (between 8:30am and 10:30am).
Yesterday I had a couple of random contractions throughout the day as well, but we were up in Melbourne and I was on my feet a lot and walking heaps so I put it down to that.
Today, no contractions, but have felt a couple of punches/movements from Little Miss right through the butt and just constant pain pain pain when I walk and stand up or sit down the wrong way.

It's right through the middle/bottom of it, gets worse when she punches me too, though she keeps on turning around in circles as well (which makes it even more painful). Feels a bit different to my usual sciatic pain - that I can recognise pretty easily when it starts going down the inner and outer thigh, but this pain steers clear of the legs, just goes right through my butt and down to my v jay jay.
There are exercises you can do to stretch it, I lie on my back and put one leg bent at the knee over my body so it touches the ground past the other side of my body if that makes sense? It's a great one to stretch the muscle out. My DH also rubs my leg every night so it doesn't ache at night.
Jenna - I have no idea what it could be if it's coming from the bottom of your butt!
I think I know what was causing it now - went to bed last night and Little Miss decided to stick a part of her leg right out directly in the middle of my belly right in the middle of the gap between my rib cage. I thought it was her knee but when I touched it all I could feel was the back of her heel!
So she's finally turned anterior and must have engaged further than I though she had lol
Definately a very different feeling from a posterior engagement lol
