I used to get worried if I didn't feel movement for a while. The things that I found that would get bubs going were:
icy cold drink like a slurpy then lie down for 1/2 an hour on the left side
coffee (only tried that in the last month of pregnancy)
chocolate
partner blowing a raspberry on my tummy
If you try all of those and still get nothing perhaps it might be worth getting checked out.
Bubs decided to make an appearance in the evening, and he's been moving a bit this morning. I think he must have just been having a very quiet, sleepy day yesterday.
Sterla - it's only the beginning of the worry hun *hugs* enjoy him!
But as they get to the end of their journey in your tum, the room gets a bit tight so they do slow down. But listen to your instinct, if you think you need to see a professional, do!
Sterla - I think when they are quiet some days, they are just sleeping heaps and growing heaps..... I usually find if our little monkey is a bit quiet one day then the next day is a really active day!! LOL
Babies sleep about 95% of the time in the womb too remember that..... they aren't awake that often.
My hospital says that if you haven't felt bub for a while to give them a call. They really don't mind so if your really worried call them, that is what they are there for. I have noticed a pattern with my little man. When I am upset he is quiet and when I am happy he is active, so it could be something as simple as that. Why don't you take yourself for a foot massage or something and relax and before you you know it your little one will be awake and saying 'hi mum, glad your feeling better'.
