    Red face Puffy... down there

    Hi all,

I'm 35 weeks on saturday and this week i've noticed that i'm more "puffy" down there than usual, i mean normally it's just been swollen, but now it's different, and I can only describe it as being puffy around my pubic area....

And one side is puffier than the other!! That's what is really concerning me. It doesn't hurt, but i'm just curious as to why it's just ballooned up this week, is it just fluid?

Does anyone else have this or know why all of a sudden it's gotten puffier?!!

    Thankyou!

LOL - I'd totally forgotten that this happens in 3rd trimester. I started a thread back when I was around this far gone, regarding "swollen bits". ROFL

    It's all good! Totally normal!

    Ah, the joys of pregnancy!!!

I found that I got puffier towards the end of my pg's. It usually always got more swollen, but always got slightly worse towards the end, possibly due to the extra pressure and blood flow to the area in the last weeks. It aint pretty, that's for sure LOL, but rest assured it goes away very soon after the birth.

    Aaahh lovely!!

Thanks ladies! I just assumed it was yet another fabulous "normal" 3rd tri symptom, but thought i'd check with the wise women of BB first!

It is actually quite funny isn't it!!

As the others have said it is normal. It is caused by your increased blood volume and the reduced blood return from your lower body.

Pregnancy has definitely made me puffier there. The feeling is almost like "swelling." What can we say, this is just an addition to the list of symptoms we are already experiencing! LOL

Gosh - like it is not hard enough with everything else getting puffy, you don't even have this safe haven to yourself! Definitely noticed a general puffiness from about 30 odd weeks onwards. I wondered why the women in the birth photos I had seen seemed to have strange "hoo haas". Now I know

I don't think I've "seen" down there for weeks! Are you ladies using mirrors?

Well from the flip side I just wanted to say 7 weeks after the birth of Mia everything has gone back to normal! I was really swollen in the last few weeks! And including the pressure feeling I had.

But now its all gone back to normal as it was before I was pregnant!

    Goodluck !
