Question about Waters

Hi Everyone,

I have had slow leaking waters since week 35, so for nearly two weeks now...I have been on antibiotics to prevent infection but I am still concerned that this isn't normal!

Doctors are happy with me but I thought that leaking waters ment induction pretty much within 2 days???

They have put you on antibiotics as you are prem, once u get to 36 or 37 weeks depending on hospital policy you will be induced. Often people will go into labour anyway.

If you develop a temperature or water becomes green (meconium) you will be induced then also.

Best for baby to stay inside as long as possible as less problems and need for scn stay.

I had the same problem and was told no induction unless bub was in distress, showed signs of infection ect, I was told induction would be at 37 weeks, I went into natural labour the day before.

I think as well as its a slow leak, not completely ruptured iykwim, they will hold you off as long as possible... just take it easy and make sure your bags are packed!!! good luck!
