Question "Seeing stars"??? (when its not night)

I just got up before from the couch to go to the bathroom and was seeing "stars" (it was like liottle white dots moving everywhere in front of my eyes and in my peripheral (sp?) vision).

It lasted a good 3 minutes before they went away. Hasn't happened before. Does anyone know what that means? It is not because I haven't eaten because I have, and I am having plenty to drink. I kind of feel all yucky at the moment though. Body feels all sore and very lethargic.

My bp has been a bit all over the place the last couple of appointments. Through my pregnancy it has been quite low but the last 2 weeks it has been up at my appointments, where I then have to be monitored and then it goes back down.

Has this "seeing stars" business ever happened to anyone else?

contact your hospital hun - it's possibly a sign that your BP is playing games again and the last thing you want to do is ignore it. it's possible you've had a drop in BP on standing up, or it may have gone up - given you're due at the moment, it's definitely best to make a phone call

    good luck

Can be a sign of pre eclamapsia so get someone to take you to hospital and have BP checked.

This happens to me all the time - my BP does tend to be on the low side.
It happens to me when I stand up too quickly.
I hope thats all it is for you too! Take care

Stars can be sign of high BP, but at the moment my BP is fine and i too get it when i stand up too quickly from lying down or even just bending over. I am a little paranod about my BP as i had pre eclampsia with my first preg. I asked OB about it and he said it is common in pregnancy, it takes a while for your BP to catch up with the movement of your body when preg.

But, it is certainly worth getting checked, you can even just pop into a local chemist and have your BP checked, most pharmacies do it. If your BP is fine, then i wouldn't think it was too much to worry about.

But like the others say, just incase it is BP related, worth a check.

    Hello
I had extremely low blood pressure with my second and saw stars all the time when standing up. I agree with the others and get checked just to be safe

I had the exact same thing at the end of my pregnancy with ds2. I rang the hospital as vision disturbances was on their list of things that you should call them about, they said to come in and they checked urine, bp and put me on the ctg machine for monitering, everything was fine but I was relieved to go in and have it checked out. As a previous poster said it can be a sign of pre-eclampsia, I would contact your dr or hospital and check just to be on the safe side, you're so close to the end!! All the best!

Hey Ali I just came back and saw your thread. I'm assuming you're out now getting your BP checked but just wanted to say that I hope everything is ok with you. It wouldn't be surprising if your BP was a little out of whack atm given the stress of the past few days.
