Hehe, good question Westy - my Dr told me to go and have lots of sex this week!! I'd say once a day would be considered lots at this stage......
I also wanted to know what is the best positions? It's just so uncomfortable to move around at the moment!!

I don't know if I should admit this, but 2-3 times in a day just sounds like effort at this stage of things and not fun.. That is LOTS and LOTS in my book.. Well 2 times I day I could probably go with, but I think that would be about my limit. As long as it is still fun for both you and DH then do as much as you feel like!
GL I hope it gets things moving along for you!![]()
When I had a midwife suggest it (I'm assuming you're talking for natural induction purposes?), I was told for it to have any significant effect you'd need to be doing the deed every hour for twelve hours.
Now that's lots![]()
OMG...That's amazing who at 9 months pregnant would have the energy to be DTD every hour for 12hours
I guess if this is the case sex wont be helping me much, hubby is away from home for 15-16hrs per day 6 days a week so it only leaves us one day and neither of us would have the energy for that......
That sure is lots...hahahaha!!!
I'm with Sarah - my obs told me that to have any affect on your cervix, the amount of semen required is some ridiculous amount that is really difficult to obtain naturally through just DTD!
But hey - we did it anway![]()
Please don't be thinking I did the once every hour thing!!!!! Gosh no!
We managed it maybe 5 nights out of 7 for the last week or two - DH was in heaven
And please don't be thinking it was because I had a massive libido - it was more of a "well this is nice and hey it can't be hurting the cervix so lets give it a go!" type of thing!
Don't forget the other benefit is the production of oxytocin - the natural "love drug" that is produced in massive amounts during labour and shortly after giving birth. Syntocinin (sp?) is the synthetic version of oxytocin, which is what that they give you to induce you!
So even just being nekkid next to your DP, getting cosy and feeling nice and "loved up" can help stimulate labour, who knows how much, but my feeling was that every little bit helps!!!!
at antenatal classes, our midwives told us that you would need it to be at least six times a week to make any difference.![]()
