    Stabbing pain in vagina.

I already posted this issue in my belly buddies group, but thought I would post in here as well for some more opinions. I have had 3 children, but have never experienced this type of pain before.

I am just going to copy and paste my other post, I am too tired to even type it all out again, LOL.

I had absolutley the worst night sleep ever!! This baby was kicking, doing somersaults, backflips and just totally bashing me internally all night long. I was getting braxton hicks at the same time and really sharp stabbing pains in my vagina. The only relief was walking, so I was pacing the floors till about 4am...when it finally calmed down and I went to bed....only to be woken by some more baby gymnastics at 6.30am...GGRRRRR!! I really hope this is not the baby's sleeping pattern once it is born.
I have an antenatal visit tonight at 7.40 so I am going to see if the midwife will give me an internal and maybe check if all these pains and BH's have done anything down there. I was getting slightly worried about the pains in my vagina, it was like someone was twisting a knife in there, had me doubled over in agony..I think it may be the baby hitting a nerve or something.

Hey Marlene sounds like you have a very active bub in there!

As for the stabbing pains it could be bub pushing onto your cervix and in which case would be a good thing! Thats the only thing i can really think of that would casue that type of pain. Good luck with appoint tonight! Maybe some others will have ideas

    Cheers

I am 35 weeks and get these occassionally as well. I had lots of them a few days ago and they are the most uncomfortable feeling! Seems they are bubs pushing on the cervix, and it seemed like all I could do was to try to move him around a bit, or walk like you said, or just wait until he moved into a better posi. Sigh!

Yeowch! I remember those pains too well Just like a knife up the hoo haa is how I describe it too.

I think it's caused by pressure combined with bub pressing on a nerve. Sure that's what my OB said.

You have my full empathy and I'm sure that I'll be (most unfortunately) grumbling about the same thing in the coming months.

Know the pains oh too well, and bubs isn't even engaged properly yet!
A couple panadol seems to dull the pain for me Marlene, that was all the dr suggested!

I can't imagine how bad it will feel when he does engage I don't think i will be able to walk!

Kristin, I was told the pain is because the head is enagaged. But, I think if the head is anywhere in the vicinity of the pelvis you can get the pains without being fully engaged.

    Hi Marlene,

Thanks for that, hmm another one of the joys of pregnancy! I'm 35 weeks so that makes sense that the head may be down, plus I think I've started 'the waddle' when I walk!
