Stabby pain

This morning and then again at lunch today, I had this horrible pain!It was like some-one had stabbed me in the middle on the left side, then dragged the knife right down to my bits. (like someone was trying to get out the front of me) Hurt like crazy and made me call out coz it hurt and it was a surprise that i wasnt expecting. Last fornight at my antenatal appt (after I didn't get many kicks thru the day and almost passed out at my appt) I was told that if I wasn't feeling well or felt like that or the baby wasn't kicking enough at my next appt (or whenever) to give the midwives a call. Today, I did just that, both for the pain and the baby not kicking as much again. The midwife I ended up seeing kept referring to it like a stitch like pain, which its not. I suggested maybe bub was on a nerve and thats what was causing it... Then, that was her answer. Its normal take some panadol. Here I am freaking out, first baby, no idea whatsoever and she didn't even seem to re-assure me what the problem was. Has anyone else had this? It didn't feel like a contraction - coz i've had a few bh and this was only onesided. The pain is enough that it stops me doing whatever it is I'm doing and takes my breath away. It doesn't last long, but leaves a lingering feeling for about 5 mins after. Any thoughts?

I have been having pains sort of like that but it happens on both sides for me. I would describe my pain as really bad period pain but then sometimes I have stabbing type pains. I'm like you and not too sure what is going on but I have been getting these pains everyday for over a week now. My Mum is freaking out and when she went to see her Dr this afternoon she asked him about it and said that I should contact the hospital as pains like that aren't normal at this stage. I don't know if it is just ligament pain or something else but it really hurts doesn't it??

I've had stabby pains for weeks, on each side down low, and also right in the girly bits! Apparently it is ligamentous, but boy it takes your breath away! When I get it, I can't stand on that leg at all, and have to stop what I'm doing, goes away in about 10 seconds but leaves me limping for 10 mins. Not nice is it?
