I'm due on about 23 June, or thereabouts, sorry, don't know how many weeks that makes me, but my little Squid is SO active! I can't remember how active they should be, when, but is this normal? Surfing the web before I started typing this, and it's still going! Doing star jumps or something! On top of that, I have a bigger belly than with the first two. Early measurements put the due date as above, but I haven't had any appointments for a few months.... and all this activity just seems so strange to me.
I seem to recall my kids having periods of extreme activity, so I think it is all normal hun!
As for size, well, pffft, your body knows what it is doing, it has BTDT, I'm sure it's all fine. I am speaking confidently because I'm only 13 weeks and I look about the same as my tiny friend who is 30 weeks with her #1 baby
I think with number 3, your body just goes "Ohhh yeah this old caper, no worries" and the belly just is bigger, earlier.
Sounds all fair enough. I don't, um, have a "next appointment"... I must make one... I am just so... non-confidence filled... disappointed... and let down by the mw's and dr's around here.
Netix, June 23rd EDD would make you 28 weeks on Saturday coming. I am due 20th June and my little one barely stops so to me the movement sounds about right
Hope its smooth sailing for you for the next 12 weeks
Bit of a sucky situation to be in. What are your options? Can you shoot off somewhere else? Nearest hospital is how far? Apart from the one near you now. What about an independent midwife?
Can you come back to Melb and see your old GP? Understand it might not be feasible...
Sorry, OP, I'm not real good on the acronyms... my fault. Thank you. Now I get it.
I'm not sure at all about my options, I just haven't wanted to do anything about it. Feeling so let down and all... The closest other hospitals from here are 60kms, or 92kms... And I have no idea what their maternity is like. The hospital here is less than 5 minutes drive. Independent mw, no idea!
I could go back to (near) Melb to see the dr, but I did pretty much all my appointments with the mw I think. I dunno.. I can't remember. I love this baby, unfortunately I just am struggling to do much about it. I hate posting anything on here about it (the whole pg thing), because I feel guilty about not doing all I should be to look after things.
I'm not booked anywhere to deliver. I'm not booked anywhere for anything. My VMR is not even filled in, because it's too hard for the drs and mws to do so.
Bump #3 for me is soooooo active too. I can watch my whole belly roll and jump while she has her serious active times. While having a scan a few weeks ago the MW couldn't get her heartbeat but we watched bub do complete 180s twice so figured there was definitely a hearbeat going on. The rest of the time she is just kicking and punching and headbutting away for hours.
DD1 was fantastic in that she moved enough to keep me reassured. DD2 was much more active and violent for want of a better term. This one leaves DD2 for dead. DH and I are both hoping that activity in the womb bears no resemblance to activity on the outside otherwise we're in for a rocky time!
Sorry to hear you're not happy with your local care. Must make it hard when you don't have any options close by. You have no reason to feel guilty so please don't. You'll sort it out when the time comes.
You are going through a lot of other stuff at the moment, so it is understandable that bub as sort of taken a back seat - you know deep down your body is still doing everything it should to keep bub safe and warm and good, so your focusing your energy on everything else.
I'm booked in at a hospital 280km away because I didn't like my closest option, infact, I didn't like my closest option so much that I even decided against my any options that were closer than 280km away. You need to go with who and what you makes you feel the most comfortable, because for you to have the best chance at a birth you want you need to be in a place where you feel safe, and trust the people around you. In saying that, the sooner you make that decision and book somewhere the better... us midwives frown on people who book in after 20 weeks =P we like to know what to expect =P
now back to your original post =P at about your gestation yes bubs are active!! as their bones are hardening so you feel them more, and they still have a fair bit of room, in another month or so they still move around the same, but cause room becomes limited (uterus is still growing, but less free space ITMS) it doesnt feel so...crazy and star jumpish!
