    TOTAL *TMI* lump on valva

I have no idea what this is, I haven't been able to look down there for obvious reasons, so no maintenance of any kind so it feels like a forest is growing down there!.... and it feels so very different down there so I grabbed a mirror... had to have a look!

So there is a forest! (and its swollen, which I expected) so I grabbed a pair of scissors to trim a little before my wax session and noticed a little lump on the top of my valva... looks like an ingrown to be honest but can't have a good enough look to tell... but its not itchy at all, didnt even know it was there....

Not seeing OB till next week... should I be concerened and do something before then.... ???

I had one a few weeks ago now and it felt like a big ingrown hair/blind pimple, but of course no hair grows there. Turns out it was just a cyst and it went away on it's own after a week or so.

I had a non painful lump a bit smaller than a pea and asked the doctor to look when I had my pap smear. she said it was a varicose vein. It was there for about 5 months but gone now.

Thanks girls, its only painful if I put any pressure on it.. was trying to see if it was an ingrown last night but nothing happened... so its a little sore today when I 'wipe' but it doesn't hurt if I dont touch it. and it obviously didnt hurt me before I found it because I never noticed it...

I will get the ob to check it out next week, bit embarrassed to bring it up, silly I know considering he will be seeing MUCH more when the birth happens!.... all these things you need to go through... its all worth it in the end of course

now a little worried.... I must have 'rubbed' it too hard when I was cleaning down there in the shower... it started bleeding and hasn't stopped since... I didnt realise it was bleeding until I got out of the shower... I panicked thinking it was the bloody show or something... then realised where the blood was coming from... now my liners are being used for something else because it wont stop bleeding...

do you think it could have been a varicose vein that has 'popped'??? so worried now!

I'd be ringing your m/w or maternity ward. It's probably nothing, but it should be checked out.

I heard that varicose veins are really painful?

    Is it still bleeding?
    If yes, then yes.

I can't hurt to ring. Maybe even Nurse on Call has an idea?

Thanks Charlotte91 I rang my midwife and she said as long as its not looking infected or bleeding constantly then she is happy for me to wait till Wednesday to get it checked out by my OB... she seems to think its a pimple but there is no puss (sorry gross I know) so fingers crossed its nothing... heres to hoping....just when I thought I was getting through my third tri with nothing to really concern me... I spoke too soon!

It sounds like it was more likely a varicose vein if it was bleeding like that. Hope it doesn't get infected on you.

Sounds like a sebatious (sp?) cyst. Most likely harmless of it is. Hope you find out soon

Saw my OB yesterday and its a blocked hair follicle... he said it will pass with time and just to make sure it doesn't get any bigger or infected. He said they are common in pregnancy with the extra hair growth and sebum/natural oil production with all the hormones. I mean I knew there was a forest down there now but I have never had a blocked hair follicle before... ah the joys! at least its nothing serious.

    thanks all for your support!
