The OB's at my local antenatal clinic have never tested my urine. I'm usually just in and out and still only visit once a month visit.

The OB checks my BP, bubs HB and my fundal height, thats about it really. I even record my own weight on my yellow card as well... and my pregnancy is high-risk!

Anyhoo, I started seeing a FANTASTIC GP. He gets me to see him every 2 wks after learning I was pregnant with a gastroschisis baby. He checks my urine, temperature, fundal height, blood sugar level, BP, bubs HB and fundal height every visit. I don't know what I would do without him as he sets my mind at ease every visit.

In short, it does not surprise me that your urine is not checked, I'm guessing they would only check it if you presented with other symptoms?? Weird hey!

I just goes to show you need to be very careful in choosing who looks after you!

My Ob and Dr (i do care share) make sure that they test my urine each visit. I had this with DD #1 and with this one as well.

I have had kidney probs in the past (polyonphritus) i think thats how you spell it so this might be why they do this with me. But all of my freinds have theirs checked as well and they have not had any past problems. This is in Perth and Cairns?

In cairns the obs do always check pregnant girls urine, well in the private sector anyway not sure about public....

Intersting though that not all docs/obs do this.
