    Waters Broke! Now waiting game!

    Hi there!

Quite excited now - my waters broke tonight at 7pm. I've been to the hospital to be checked and they sent me home till the contractions are closer. Basically I just feel like I have period pain that's annoying but not terrible. No real contractions yet. IT's quite a surreal feeling really!

When the waters broke - OMG! Gushing is the right word! Every time I stood up off the toilet they came again! Slowed down now though - soaked about 5 or 6 pads! ha ha anyway just thought I'd let you know it's all started!

Had some tea and a shower and now just going to potter around - maybe even rest though I doubt that!

Good luck hun. It's a tough call isn't it. Either walk to help it along or rest for later.

Try the rest side hun. It's gonna be a long night I think.

Renstar, my labour has never started with my waters breaking so I can't answer it in that regard. But yes, in early labour when you are just crampy ( like period pains) you can sleep/ rest through that. It's when your getting down to business you can't sleep.

I'd try and get rest overnight if you can, you'll be excited but trying to stay awake when labour hasnt started as well as trying to stay awake the whole labour - you'll be knackered! So rest now, walk first thing in the morning!!!
