    Vagina changes?

Okay- I'm really hoping I'm not weird and someone else has had this...

I've noticed that my vagina seems 'bigger' lately sort of like when I'm aroused... it seems full and sort of sticking out. So today I got a mirror to look (can't see past the belly!) and it seems like it's coming out. It almost seems like with everything inside all the bits have been pushed out. I'm a bit worried that this is prolapse? I do my pelvic floor exercises and I think I feel strong so I'm not sure.

Anyone have any clue what this is? Maybe just the increased blood? I have a midwife appointment next week but thought I'd see if this common to put my mind at ease- I've not heard anything about it.

Completely normal hun. It does look terible though doesn't it? LOL. It is due to the increased blood flow to the area but is nothing to worry about. I acutally had it happen earlier and earlier with each pg - mine was like that midway through the first tri with my last one.

Thank you sooo much for replying. Increased blood sounds very plausible and I'm glad to hear it's common (just not mentioned in the books I've been reading...). I've been feeling it for quite a while and was hoping I hadn't been silly to let it go for so long unchecked.

The mirror also revealed to me that I have stretchmarks across the bottom of my tummy. What a great day!

completely normal. My husband was so shocked at how "BIG" it gets down there, and it is all due to the increased blood flow, i'm just glad it shrinks after the birth

I have been wondering about this too - I'm very swollen and it is preventing me from being on my feet for long - it gets sore.

I was worried it might be a symptom of thrush? Is that possible? I have an OB appt next week so I guess I will ask then.

"there is something i have to tell you and i dont want you to get upset but i think your hoo haa is growing" hahahahaha
    That is so funny!!

My H seems either clueless or completely tactful... he photographed my belly yesterday and I said "Are they stretch marks??" and he said "No, just marks where your pants were sitting"... Liar!

Thanks for all the replies- it pays to ask huh?

Hubby always used to mention that 'it felt different down there' when I was in my last trimester.

It goes back to normal eventually, though!

Phew - I also was getting a bit worried. Glad to hear it doesn't stay that way.

Mine's like that too, I just assumed it was blood. I kind of like it though, more sensitivity...

I hope you didn't mind me invading your thread??

I'm so glad I joined this forum. I've been getting a lot of my questions answered... especially silly things I dont really want to ask my midwife.

WOW- i was just writing this in my belly budies thread few days back- phew- thought something was wrong or the swelling was from bubs pushing down or something... LOL

i asked my DP and he said "well at least you know the baby will fit out of there".... Its not that swollen... made me feel like my hoo haa was enormous...

Glad to know it does go back to normal- i dont think it happened with my first and if it did i dont think i noticed... was just talking to my DP bout not being the same down there after #2.... hopefully its not too different after...

This thread has given me my giggle for the day. I removed all hair from that area the other day and couldn't believe what I saw, LOL. I am so puffy and swollen down there I wish I had left the hair. I have two huge veins running down either side of the labia...it's ewwwwwww. Thank goodness it goes back to normal.
