Ok, so I'm not likely to confuse the two then I think my mindset is just so much that having the baby won't hurt - I'm more afraid of needles and blood tests than labour - and I'm so excited about finally getting to the labour stage, I've somehow got myself thinking it won't be that painful
I went into labour the first time totally unaware of what I was in for, and afterwards had the greatest appreciation from what I learnt first hand rather than reading too much in books or asking for family members to fill me in on what to expect....
now I know what I'm in for but still excited You will know real contractions because they are stronger, more frequent and don't go away.... Also you will probably have a 'show' of your mucus plug around the time of real labour and your waters could break too.... Mine didn't though
Yeah real contractions will have a pattern (so every 10-15 mintues etc) and they wont go away when you sit down or walk around. I find BH dont have a pattern and you might have 3 in a hour then nothing for 6 hours. BH usually ease when you sit down and relax or for me, if you keep walking.
But at the end of the day, none of us can say what your BH or contractions will feel like, everyone is different but I hope we have given you abit more confidence in your body and mind
