Question When did you start using RLT and/or EPO?

Sorry guys, I know there are heaps of posts on this subject already but I can't seem to find any of them!

I'm 28 weeks and am thinking about starting both RLT and EPO.

My last labour was very long and drawn out and I'm hoping this might help speed things up a bit.

I have already started taking RLT (actually i have swapped over to the tabs because i got sick of the taste of the tea) Willow... but obviously i don't know whether i will benefit from it or not yet. I am planning to start EPO at 33 weeks.

Willow, I'm sure its fine to start taking it now, any time after 28 weeks is perfectly fine. Not long now, . I took it from 32 weeks.

I took RL tabs from 29 weeks. Upgrading the dose slowly until I took 6 tabs a day at 32 weeks. And took EPO orally from about 34 weeks.

(My bub came at 39 weeks, and my labour only went for 6.5 hrs! and it was my first baby too..I tell myself that RL tabs and EPO contributed to this! )

Dee - Did you happen to use EPO or RLT with any of your precious ones?

28 weeks for rlt, and 34 weeks for epo.
The rlt says on the bottle you can start in the third trimester, and Alan's advice that I have read for epo is from about 34 weeks.

Willow I believe you can beging RLT from the third trimester. EPO begin it orally at around 34 weeks and you can begin it as a pessary from 38 weeks.

The other thing I swear by is a homeopathic called "caulliphium". This works much in the same way as epo - I used it with my second baby (my first labour was over 30 hours) and he came in a lovely modest textbook way with only really 2 hours of ouchy contractions. My other births have all been using caulliphium as well.
I have seen it used to great effect by women having vbac - it's great.
You will need to see a homeopath but it's well worth it if it sounds like something you may be interested in...

Does anyone know what kind of dose to take of the EPO? I am 37 weeks..have been taking three orally and 2 as a pessary - when I can be bothered dealing with the mess!

Ah-ha! I'm sure that if I'd thought about it better it would have hit me. But then again, at 38 weeks, my brain isn't working too well.......so maybe not.

To answer the thread question now, I have never used EPO, and I drank RLT for about the last 6 weeks of my pregnancy with DD. I haven't used either this pregnancy. It didn't seem to help with DD, so I'm letting this one take it's own course.

Deb - I'm interested in anything that will help avoid another labour with 3 days of pain and not much progress till the 3rd day! Although my ob assures me it will be quicker this time, I'm not sure I believe him

Not sure how I'd go about finding a homeopath though...I'm sure I could if I looked hard enough.

For those that drank the RLT - where did you get it? There's a tea shop in the city that I'm going to suss out, other than that - health food shop?? I'd prefer to try the tea to start with.
