Maybe you could buy those really cheap sanitary pads (the surfboard ones LOL) - soak in water and freeze - would be more sanitary than reuseables...

Hi guys you can buy femme pads which are designed for wearing in your knickers you can refrigerate them they don't recomend that you freeze them but i did with both of my baby's. They are reusable you just wash them with soapy water they come in a set of two so you can keep one cold then swap them and wash and cool the second one. They are available from the ABA website. I loved them.
    Hope that helps

When i had DS#1 - the hopspital gave me frozen clear sachets of eye wash (cant think of the proper name for it) they work really well cause even when frozen they become pliable quite quickly. I loved them.

Not sure if you could get them from the chemist ?

My recommendation...condoms. Fill them with water (not completely full, you don't want them huge), tie them off at the end - sometimes it's better to double it (do another one over the top once the first is semi-frozen) You get a packet of them in the 2nd bounty bag at the hospital, so you could use them or just buy a pack - I didn't need them this time round, cause fantastically I had no swelling or pain down there which I was not expecting and was so stoked about. But I have a few friends who have done it and they work well - and when you're not quite so tender inside, you can lube them slightly and insert them too, if you want, so that it takes care of the swelling and pain just inside. Or you just pop them into your undies like you would the normal ice packs at the hospital.

I found some little freezer packs at Kmart which were great. They actually came in a sheet of 12 but I cut them into strips so I had four lots of three strips and they fit into my knickers perfectly.
I think I found them in by the lunch boxes and stuff or it may have been by the chilli bin (sorry esky) stuff.
Good luck they certainly made a difference for me.
