I had it and Chinese herbs for the whole pg. Fortnightly then weekly last tri. It was fantastic ! I also had weekly chiro and regular massageenjoy
I started accupunture & RLT at 36 weeks and reckon they do help - even though I was induced because of reduced fetal movement at 38+5 I was already 4cms dilated without even knowing and had a 5hr labour.
I kept my "induction" accupuncture appointment which would have been 39+5 and had a treatment to help the body realign/restore itself after childbirth.

I had induction Accupuncture - my first was 2 weeks late and with one day before being booked into c/sect I tried it hoping for anything to work so booked in at 12pm that arvo and 2am next morning labour begun with my second I wasnt gonna leave it that long and 40+1 booked in again at 12pm and by 7pm that night was in labour!!! DEFINATLY will do it again with number 3!!!
I had induction acupuncture done at over 40weeks (floating high, nuchal hand, titlted head presenting to hip full posterior on long closed cervix, was also seeing a chiro.) in two sessions. Both times, while being treated, I had some good regular BH start, but they faded out after the sessions ended. However it still felt awesome, so relaxing and moxibustion is divine! As it turned out my son wasn't going to birth vaginally at all (skull condition requiring surgery at10 months old, was wrong size and shape to fit through my pelvis.) I imagine in different circumstances with a baby who would fit, it would have been more productive.
I didn't try again with ds2, but I could feel at 36 weeks he was already making more downward progress than ds1 ever did, so I felt no need to really help him along, although I would have gone again just for the relaxation!
All your stories have given me hope and it looks like I may need the acupuncture to help turn my baby - I'm carrying another damn posterior bubs!I'll definitely mention it at my appointment next week and hopefully they can do something to help.
I think moxa helps turn bub, I know my acupuncturist told me not to worry if that happened and I'm pretty sure he said he would start trying to turn bub at about the 36 week mark too. good luck
I just had my first 'prep for labour' session and OMG, it was awesome!! So relaxing!! I really was surprised despite reading that it is relaxing in this thread, lol.
I'm booked in again for Monday night - if make it![]()
