Ranitidine is Cat B1 in pregnancy (in Australia) meaning it is perfectly safe to use. I think it's much better than putting up with the horrible heartburn and reflux! It works pretty quickly, and is longer lasting than antacids (it prevents the production of stomach acid, which causes the burn) . Have you had a chat with your OB or GP regarding Pariet in pregnancy? It is also a B1 category, it is usually preferred that people try Zantac first, but if you were on it before, they would probably be happy with you continuing on.
