Do you let your kids watch TV before school?

Mine sit straight in front of it as soon as they get up. DD1 in particular is not a morning person and it is better not to talk to her for a while after she gets up lol. They happily come when I call for breakfast and get dressed when they are told.

Both girls watch TV of a morning. Personally I would rather it not go on, but DH like to watch it whilst he has his breakfast.
The girls both manage to eat breakfast and get ready, so other than the fact that I loathe noise of a morning, it is not worth making a deal of it.

Must admit of a weekend I love it, the girls can get up and watch it for awhile whilst DH and I get a little sleep in.

No tv on here. DD1 would be fine, but DD2 is such an airy fairy that if it was on she would never get ready. I swear I need to send out a search party for her after she's left the room to get her shoes or something because she just goes off into her own little world and completely blocks out whatever it was she was doing originally.

Nope. Mine don't get ready. DS usually gets up on the days he doesn't have school & turns it on, but its too distracting for DD2 mainly.
If DD1 is up early enough to watch for a bit before the rest of us get up, I'll turn it off when its time to get ready.

We don't have digital here, so they don't put up much of a fight No kids shows

We don't own a TV but we have other electronic things like computers, DVDs. We don't let DS use these either before or after school, they are only for weekends including Friday afternoons. It probably works ok for other people but we just find that DS becomes really too involved in them to the point where he neglects other things. So this rule works for us and he can then go play on his bike or something if he is already ready for school.

Yeah, they watch whatever they want until 7:30 then I turn it over to what I want to watch. It doesn't interfere with getting ready because it's not what they want to watch.

They are so slow as it is they don't need another distraction - so no tv in the morning during the week at our place.

As soon as our TV goes on my two kids ears seem to stop working and they turn into lumps whose legs & arms don't move!!!

If I want to get out of the house before midday our TV has to be off. If they get ready I don't mind them watching it a bit before we go.

We have it on, but if it interferes with getting dressed/brushing teeth then it goes off.
Nowdays all I have to to is take one step towards it as if I am going to shut it of and he is up and running for the bathroom

My 4.5 yr old cannot watch T.V before Kindy as he will cry, kick and scream saying he wants to stay home with mum and watch T.V! It just turns a switch on in his brain I guess.

Though we do leave t.v on most days while we are just hanging out at home and just watch it when we feel like it. Though we are only home on Mon/Tue's if that.

He probably wont watch it before school either at least until he is old enough and doesn't cry when we drop him off. The two boys will go crazy though and run around outside, fight and throw breakfast at each other but for now thats easier to deal with than a super emotional drop off!

This is my DD who is 5 yo. She gets up either plays with her toys or puts the t.v. on. If I am having a lie in, she'll come & get me to make her breakfast.

My DS turns into a zombie if the TV is on. Until the show changes and he screams "MUM! MUM! LOOK! LOOK XXX IS ON! MUM!" and so on until I actually look and answer him. Unfortunately for me, there's no chance of a sleep in on the weekend as he just won't sit & watch by himself. But when we need to go somewhere, he won't do a thing if the TV is on . So no TV in the mornings in our house unless we are staying home, AND he is already been to the toilet and dressed. He will eat breakfast very slooooowly if the TV is on. DD seems to be taking lessons from him too lol!

My two aren't in school yet but they go to childcare/kinder a couple of times per week.

It varies a lot. I definitely prefer it not to be on BUT if it means I can go and get dressed without the girls following me into the bedroom and DD2 climbing up on to the bathroom sink and messing around in my lipsticks, then I will happily put it on for a bit. (DP is often sleeping off a late shift so is not always up in the mornings).

If I'm all sorted before they get up, then no, I'll use that time to give them breakfast/get dressed etc.

If the TV is on, there's no way they'll get ready at the same time as watching it.

My kids are up at 6am and ask us if they can watch TV. Answer is always yes as we are getting ready or just about to get up ourselves. It goes off when it's time for breakfast and to get ready for school.

Only when they are completely ready or of they are waiting for me to finish feeding dd3 so I can do their hair. Otherwise everything happens at snail pace.

We have about half an hour to get up, dressed, lunch made, breakfast eaten, spelling words checked, out the door. So no time for TV! We do have the radio on, though.

We get up just after the 7 o'clock radio news. We are out the house before twenty to eight. If we were leaving the house at twenty past instead of twenty to, yeah we'd have TV and games and all sorts. Or even more time in bed staying warm!

I used to let my older 2 watch as soon as they'd had breakfast, gotten dressed teeth brushed bags packet etc but not before.
