That's great BR, hopefully having some familiar faces from kinder will be good for you DD. How is she feeling about school now?

DD's friend from dance class is coming to the same school too, DD is so excited. Her mum is a bit concerned about high enrolments for next year so she rang the school last week and they told her that there are 106 preps and there will be 5 classes of 21 or 22 kids. She said she heard of a few dropouts due to large numbers and that they are going to the other smaller school up the road as they have capped enrolments due to their smaller size.

DD was the same lunch here was 11.30 (still is) but they do adjust! They often eat brain food in the morning from lunch box (fruit) I just make sure she has cereal and toast and a filling but easy to eat play lunch (from my understanding from DD they have a small amount of time to eat inside before going out to play ) lunch time they get 10 mins, though preps get 20 mins before going out.

Argghhh we have just realised we are going to Fiji in Nov and will be missing the first two orientation sessions not telling dd as it will upset her hoping she can still settle in ok and that they can work out what class she will suit.

YAY for Fiji, how exciting for you all! I'm green with envy lol!
Bummer on missing the first two transition sessions but there are five all up so it should be fine if you can make those I would think?

Just realised its a little over a month until the first orientation session, wow that's gone quick

Of course Ginger, we are all in the same boat with a little one starting school regardless of which school!! The more the merrier

YAY for enrolling at Billanook, I've heard it's a great school. Are they the school that does prep/g1/g2 all together?
I'm also a little nervous and anxious for my DD but I really don't want her to pick on my feelings. She is super excited so hopefully it stays that way. She asked me this morning if we could go out today and buy school shoes lol!

Hi Ginger I have heard good things about billanook too.

Sangie I keep pointing out how excited I am about Dd going to school and I have been encouraging her to play with two of the kinder girls who are going there too. I will talk to the school on Monday, hopefully she will go into a class with kids she knows.

I am trying to hold off on shoes until a bit later, does anyone know what's 'in' these days t bars or lace ups?
