I made it back with personals! Don't fall over with shock lol!
Shazz WE LOVE YOU! I can’t believe your family :( I’m sorry I wasn’t there posting straight away to tell you how awesome you are!
Sheree You are such a dear sweet friend. You are going through so much and yet you still think of me all the time! I love you for that! If I end up moving my cash flow may not be great for that month but I promise you I will be up there for a holiday just a soon as I can!
Leanne I hope you are feeling better soon you poor thing! It sounds awful!!
Sara The STAT isn’t really that hard. At least it wasn’t for me. I scored in the top 11% - and still didn’t make it into midwifery lol. I have found with Em at home this past week my house is even more messier then usual lol! OMG at losing 1.5L of blood! That is a lot! I’m glad the check up went well and WOW at the mirena. I have heard they are becoming more popular now too.
Ellissa GL for your DH’s interview! Poor Archie’s fingers!
Thanks for the advice re stairs. I got some great replies in a thread I started too which is helping with the decision. Em has a mild ear infection, possible chest infection and a swollen throat so is now on antibiotics. Hopefully that clears it all up soon. We also suspect he may be asthmatic and so he now has a ventolin. Got a busy day ahead of me tomorrow so I best get to bed!
Night!
-
Ohh poor little Em. Hope is better soon Nat. Oh and it is my pleasure, you are a treasure you know that!

Hi girls...
I'm really sorry I can't do personals. I'm sooooo tired right now.
I went to the obstetrician this morning. Even he said I looked really tired. Baby is well. Good size, good heart rate. I had blood tests last week and I thought my iron would be low... but that's all okay. But last night I discovered a condition I had with Shaun. On my shins (lower legs) my legs become like marshmellow. If you press down on the skin, it indents - but doesn't pop back again. When I showed the ob he asked if I had an injury with that leg - and I said "no - it's both legs, and it happened with Shaun". That really took him by surprise and he's booked me for more blood tests. He thinks it might be a protein deficiency. Last time my GP thought it was my thyroid... but all the tests said my thyroid was fine.
We got the keys to the house on the weekend, so Yariv could rip up the tiles in the front entrance, so we could get the floorboards repolished. The current owners are so lovely letting us into their house earlier then expected. Anyway... we started on Saturday, and on Sunday Yariv went back to put out staples from the floor. I met him up there later - and half the kitchen was gone!!! On Sunday he ripped out the entire kitchen by himself. I was so impressed!! The owners also popped in and were surprised, but fine with it. They were impressed with Yariv too.
We get the keys tonight... and the boards are getting polished tomorrow morning! We start moving our furniture on the weekend.
Shaun is on the mend now. He was sick from last Wednesday. On Saturday he was improving, but when my step-mum saw him she freaked out and insisted we go to the hospital. So we go to emergency, and didn't wait long. Doc checked him over and he is ill - but nothing serious. He gave me a script for anti-biotics but said to wait at least a day and only use them if he gets worse. But he improved heaps on Sunday... and by Monday he was nearly back to normal.
I'm sorry this whole post is about me.... And I must find the time to do some decent personals. But please be aware that I'm thinking about you all... and hope you're all going well.
hugs to everyone.
Jodie

nat - we dont have stairs, we have 3 big steps to get out front andback doors and they are enough of a hassle, i personally wouldnt want to be in a house with stairs and a toddler. poor Em i hope he is on the mend soon, bummer about the asthma, we expect Archie to have as we both do.
sara - lol at your cheeky mind!!! Dh is 5 hours away so no not that kind of excitement, i was being sarcastic meaning i was having a boring night researching on the net he he he. Hope Colbys night colic doesn't last long.
sheree - hi! hope your doing okay
jodie - good to hear from you you poor tired thing, how strange having marshmallow legs, good description, i wonder what causes it?? Great to hear that everything is fine with bub. Sounds like Yariv has been hard at work lately, bet your looking forward to getting settled into the new house before the baby comes. happy that Shaun is feeling much better.
Well it is 1pm and i am still in my pjs, slack! Waiting for Archie to wake up s i can have a shower, the bathroom is next to his room and the walls are paper thin so im not gonna risk waking him.
-
Sorry just a quick post jodie. That same thing happened with me with Lachlan, at 36 weeks and it was my birthday I remember it all so well and was up at the hospital getting my blood pressure checked. I had high blood pressure and I was concerned it may have gone bad as I was exactly how you explained it, like a big divit in your leg that takes forever to go back to normal size and is discoloured (really white/pale). I was told it was just really bad fluid, I am sure it is nothing to worry about. Did they check your blood pressure?
-
yeah... blood pressure is perfect.
I'm not too worried about the legs. Because I had the same with Shaun... and it went back to normal a few months after the birth. But it's really wierd. And I'm not as swollen as I was with Shaun... although I might swell up in the next couple of months.
-
Yeah my sister freaked out when she saw my legs, they were horrible.
-
Okey dokey, this is the first time in a really long time that I have had a chance to sit down on the computer for more than 30seconds….I have a real lot to catch up on.
Sara Colby sounds like she’s doing really well! I do that with the potty too, though Darcy’s pretty freaked by it all. She knows to tell you when she’s going to do a wee or a poo (but she calls them all poos) but won’t do it if you rush her into the toilet. She has no pants on a lot at home, but is pretty good and we rarely have to clean up any messes. If she does have to often she’ll scoot outside lol. They say the best time to try and start TT is around 18 months. As for the sippy cup (I know I’m going back a bit) I’d rather have less mess than an advanced child…..I do believe the Mirena is a great alternative.
Yep Nat we have stairs, and I never found them a challenge really. Darcy’s fallen down a few a couple of times - she’s just more careful afterwards. She can climb and get down the stairs safely. I just showed her a few times and she got the gist. Hope Em’s feeling better soon. Does he cope with the ventolin?
Jodie, wow Yariv sounds like a worker! I can’t wait to see! The legs sound a bit average though. How’s the packing going. We’re moving in a week and I haven’t even started….they are paying for someone to do it though.
Leanne you poor love! Far out you’re going to be immune to every bug known to man shortly! How’s my precious Katy going?
Elissa. Those maggies! My mum feeds the ones at home….consequently we’ve never been swooped even though their nest is very close. Poor Archie’s finger! Swearing----Darcy said ‘oh s##t!’ yesterday when she tripped. Cam thought it was hilarious. Considering that’s the only expletive I use I should be more careful I think. Hope your DH’s interview goes how you guys want it to :fingerscrossed:. So have you decided to move?
Shazz your bathroom looks very professional! Hope you’re feeling better hun. How’s Ryan’s asthma going?
Sheree did you get the house with the newsagent? That’s a buggar about Lachlan getting under the matress in the port-a-cot. Is he still going well in the bed?
As for us, we’re packing up to move next Tuesday. Bit scary as we moving in on Friday and Cam goes away for 4 months on Saturday, and then Darcy starts CC on the Monday and our wedding anniversary on the Tuesday - woohoo all by myself.
We went into town last Friday night just the 2 of us and Darcy stayed with Nan and Pop (who’s her favourite person in the whole world ATM). LOL she fell asleep on the lounge so they slept on their chairs so they didn’t have to wake her when they moved her….dags. We had a lovely night though. It was the most sleep in a row I’ve had since Darcy was born.
Darcy decided last Sunday (9 days ago) that she no longer wanted to sleep in the cot…we had long screaming sessions until on the Thursday I thought I’d test a theory and borrow mum’s fold out bed. We’ll she was fine in that, so we pulled the cot down this morning and she’s been in the bed for nearly a week. We’ll get her a real bed after we move. She has no rail or anything. She did fall out with a thud last night, and a couple of time she’s gotten out in the dark and gotten lost and ended up next to the chest of drawers etc but other than that no real probs. Getting her to fall asleep in there is a bit of a challenge, but I’ve almost got that licked.
She’s also turned into a right terror, chucking HUGE tantrums and being really naughty. I’m quite laid back so I don’t know where she learned them, but I’m hoping they’ll pass. They make some days and all car rides a nightmare….I think she knows something big is going down.
Well that’s enough typing……be back soon.

wow Kim so much going on for you you have a busy week ahead i envy your move though i'm really ready to move on i have been thinking about putting Ryan in a bed but for the time being he is happy being in his cot so i'll leave it for now Ryans asthma is getting under control we have our good days and some bad nights i am really hoping he grows out of it
-
Well done on the replies Kim. Wow Darcey in a bed, good for you. We put away the port-a-cot as it was creating too much confusion, he didn't know which one he liked more.... so only have the cot now, creating a few issues for us, but tuff I say, get use to it kiddo! Like last night screamed and screamed and screamed so much we gave in and let him come out, he watched the wiggles for a little while with daddy. Daddy brought him out so I said only under the proviso he doesn't move from the couch as i have cleaned up all his toys and I am not doing it again. The little worm, wriggled and wormed, couldn't sit still the whole 1/2 hour with his water bottle hangin out of his mouth of course. But he knew I would go cross if he moved off the lounge, wise kid! Then he grabbed two of the lounge pillows and starting walking towards his room. We gathered that was the sign, so put him to bed with 2 x pillows, his water bottle and whalaaa.... It was so cute later when I went into his room, all crashed out on his 2 pillows with elmo. He is fighting his morning / afternoon sleep too, just screaming like I haven't heard in a long time, so I just don't know what to do atm....
All the houses here are mine houses as you can't live here unless you work at the mine or own a business. So we pay alot more rent then the miners, still great but as we only pay $100 per week, but the miners only pay $15. Unbelievable huh and they will strike if you put it up. I know we can't complain but for the simple fact another miner could live in our house for so much less a week really sux. A have had a lady say oohh that is good (this lady being a miners wife), and I am whispering under my breathe - bet you wouldn't pay that! But yeah none the less, it is great rent!
Goodluck with the move, will it be a while until you have your computer set up?
Oh and Lachlan also, just in the last few days is being a Gremlin. I thought he was chucking tanties before, but OMG he really is now! His father couldn't believe it, cause in his eyes he can do no wrong. He just really knows what he wants and doesn't want at the moment and boy oh boy it really prooves challenging at times. They must be going through a really naughty stage atm.
Too cute about your parents not wanting to disturb her and going to sleep on the couch.
Ok cya my little monkey is being a menace.
-
No way it will be about the second thing I set up....I'd miss too much! LOL
-
whats that chart of your up too kim ?
-
yeah don't know Shazz. I didn't do anything different last night, but I still feel like the temp was too high to be plausible. Maybe I was awake and don't remember....
-
Hi girls,
I have been naughty and been in here and not posted today. Now i am too tired and just want to go to bed.
Just got Colby settled and tidied the house and now i am buggered.
So sorry for no personals. Tomorrow!
Hope you are all well....
Ni night!
-
Hi guys, boy I have a lot to catch up on.
Just eating a bit of brekky before I wake Katy and go to CC and work.
Feeling better. Thank goodness for berocca! and Coffee!
BB tonight for personals.
Hi Kim....... Any time for a visit before you go?
-
Wow you guys can talk up a storm!!
Leanne- hope you and katy are better now, Kim's right you will be immune to everything soon!
Kim- Don't envy you the packing and moving, poor you having Cam leave so soon too, is he coming home for Christmas? Will your parents come down to stay with you for a while? Erin will come and visit if you like LOL She announced last week that when she has a baby she is calling her Darcy!!
Sheree- $100 a week wow I am envious we pay $420!! but then again we do live in a city! Riley has just started climbing everything, last night he climbed on a chair on and onto the dining room table. I can understand why you'd want a low rise house, its so much easier to manage. Is it getting hot up there?
Jodie- Yariv is amazing!! I bet you are getting excited about the new house although probably apprehensive about the move. Hope they sort out your leg issues!!! Are you still working heaps?
Elissa- GL with DH's job interview. I didn't TT Erin until she was 2 1/2 or more and it was heaps quicker and easier than with Jess who was younger but i think i depends on the child. Riley has no idea of when he is going to go so is nowhere near ready yet.
Shazz- hope you are feeling better.
Nat- nice to see you again! Hope Em gets better soon
Damn Riley is awake and screaming BBL for the rest of the personals!!
-
kim - wow, what a huge post, good to hear from you though. We have decided that we will move if DH gets offered a job in another town on the truck, if he doesn't get this job we will stay here another 12 months then take stock and see if DH wants to move back to his job in Adelaide. hope you're coping okay with the big move ahead. Gosh Darcy is always two steps ahed of the rest isn't she?! Sounds like she is very clever with toilet training, i had the potty out for a few days but Archie really just wasn't 'getting it' and it was annoying me that he wasnt catching on so i have put the potty away for a few more months at least. And a big bed wow!! had a giggle imagining her getting lost near the chest of drawers, can just imagine walking into the room and seeing her there half asleep he he he. Thats great that theya re moving you, we are really hoping the service will pay for our move cause we dont have the money atm.....will cross that bridge when we come to it.....oh tantrums, dont think they are learned forom mum and dad i think they are programmed into them in utero! Yeah she probably can sense that something is happening, shes a pretty switched on kid.
sheree - soory to hear that Lachlan isnt sleeping happily atm no day sleeps, thats scarey!
leanne - great to hear you are feeling well again, must buy some berocca to have in the cupboard, i have never tried it but it sure sounds like good stuff.
christine - yeah Archie has no idea either, i have put the potty away and am thinking i'll just leave it and he can stay in nappies for ages til hes well and truly ready.
Just got back from Poppy's, he wore Archie out, Arch fell asleep in the car on the way home and didn't even wake when i carried him to bed, must be pooped.
oooo i am feeling nervous for poor DH, his interview is in half an hour, there will be a panel of four poeple, he had a personality test an hour ago, shouldn't have a problem with that as he is employed by the service already.
Better go and pay the bills for the week....ooo we only have 1 bill and its only $50!!! What a shock. Rego next week that will make up for it lol.
