Cruising Turkey ~ I know the feeling, Ive been freaking out because my boobs havent really been sore and my tummy doesnt seem to be growing much at all. I'm sure everything is fine for both of us though, everyone is different.

AFM ~ well was getting concerned as I dont feel like I'm growing that much and Ive had some weird jabbing type pains and bad backache - probably just my silly body though as Ive always had troubles and/or perhaps uterus stretching etc. But this morning I threw up (at work) - im nearly 16 weeks and have had a bit of MS the last 2-3 weeks, didnt have any at the start.

Hey Ladies..I will get the list posted and if anyone is missed please let me know and give me your EDD :)

As for me...Im 1cm dilated (too early) and baby is still breech

AFM Well I had a scan today I'm seven weeks and bub is measuring 6 wks 4 days but doc don't concerned as we are talking minute millimetres, I got to see and hear a heart beat which was nice, my hcg as of Saturday were 36500. But even with all this positive feedback I still feel really uneasy about it all, I try really hard not to and keep myself busy (this can sometimes a bit tricky as I am a kindy teacher) Off to acupuncturist tonight maybe he can calm me down a bit.

Nope I'm out. Dr confirmed my miscarriage today.

Rach83 - I am so sorry. So very sorry. 2 in such a short period of time must feel a bit overwhelming. HUgs for you and we are all here when you need us.

Afm just a quick update. Bubba is still sitting transverse and I'm 28 weeks today. 34/36weeks they will start to worry if she hasn't turned head down. I really want my natural birth. I'm so scared of having to have a c section.

My bp was 122/80 so behaving. No protein in wee :) yay but still have mild odema. So onto fortnightly visits here.

I can't believe I'm 28w and in the third trimester! 2 more and ill be 30 weeks. Hoping bubba stays put for a while longer.

JJ - Oh boy that totally sucks :( I'm really sorry about the oral surgeon and all your car trouble. It must be a tough decision to make... coedine vs chair and local. I don't envy you. Will keep you in my prayers! Glad bub is going well though :)

WanneBeMum - Are you still here? Thinking of you a lot! I have a friend who was due on Sunday and nothing yet! I keep stalking her and her hubby's FB's like a mad thing, lol. DH's cousin also had a bub the other day. Gorgeous little boy called Beau :) Hoping it's very soon for you! Thanks for thinking of us too... you are also a wonderful support and encouragement! *hugs*


BecnXavi - Ooh tongs might be a good idea, lol. I have started picking things up with my feet or bending sideways too, lol. Thinking of you and your baby girl. Isn't it wonderful that we can find out these things before birth? I mean it's obviously NOT wonderful about her heart, but the fact that we live in this time period and can do something about it is! Hope she is continuing to do well xxx

CT - Glad you can chill with your partner while you wait for bub :) Have fun on your travels! Hope your symptoms are back in full force! lol

Blondtress - Oh I really hope you don't have GD, but if you do I hope the OBs and dietitian are very helpful and lovely to you. Yay for low Downs' results. DH will enjoy the next scan :) Hahaha love your PG announcement! I am also going to have a high electricity bill this summer! It's 33 today but going up to 36 tomorrow and 37 Thursday! EEEK!

angelfish - Oh not the easiest of things to do! I guess all you can do is sleep while your baby is sleeping and try to do calm/relaxing things when not.

MelM - Rellies are sometimes not as helpful as they think they're being are they! I don't know anyone who could go through a m/c and not worry about the second pregnancy. It's totally normal! Sticky vibes to you! Hope the acupuncture helped.

Rach83 - I am so very sorry hun :( *huge hugs to you*

Loops - I also feel like I'm not growing much, but it's hard to tell. Some people tell me I look huge and others say I'm not very big, lol. Who knows? Hope your recent 'm/s' goes away!

TM - Hope bub settles down, turns around and stays put for much longer!



AFM - I've just been sort of hanging out waiting since my GD and iron test last 1.5 weeks ago. I have an appointment tomorrow though, so should find out how things are going. I have to say, I quite like having more regular appointments now. It gives me the reassurance every 2 weeks. Not that I go around worrying all day, but it's nice to have some kind of update. Then when people ask I can give them an actual update rather than, "Oh yeah, it's going well I assume" lol. Bub has been quite quiet recently until today. I think I'm noticing a pattern.... I have a few days of feeling like I ate a whale in the evening and not being able to each much after 5-6pm. Then I have a few days of being absolutely starving and scoffing food all day. Then I have a few days of a really quiet bub movement wise. Then I have a few quite active days. It's a weird pattern but it must be bub's growth cycle or something. I don't feel like my tummy has expanded further in the last 2-3 weeks, but at my last appointment the OB said there was still a lot of room in my uterus. So maybe bub is just catching up to my uterus before it pushes it further out again? Dunno?

I think I'm having sciatica, but not sure. What does it feel like? Well my 'symptoms' are a sharp pain down my right buttock after I've been sitting for a while, or if I move suddenly, like getting up or like changing seating position. It's not nice but it's fairly mild at the moment. Hopefully it doesn't get any worse!

That's about me for now! Hopefully I'll have more to update on tomorrow after my appointment (and it will be GOOD updates!)

The Mrs - FX that bubs stays snug a while longer.

LnD - bubs will turn, it's ages away til you have to worry about that. But if you had a caesarean, you'd cope too, they are not so scary... honest.

Phe, dads going much better and after a week in hospital, he's back home. Was a bit touch and go.

Things are starting to settle down thank goodness.

Hi girls,

I have just found out I am pregnant... I didn't really want to join any belly buddie threads until I was 12 weeks because I have lost so many this year but I really need advice from anyone who might know what HCG injections are... so I hope I am posting on the right thread....

I am 3 weeks and 6 days pregnant my hcg level on Monday was 121. My ob has suggested to start hcg injections 3 times a week until I get to 12 weeks pregnant. I was supposed to be doing a whole barrage of tests on my third day of my cycle and chromosome testing but he has said not to bother and to concentrate on these injections.

Anyone had experience with this or heard of this that can offer me some advice? :help:

Silver Bell - firstly congratulations! I hope this is your sticky baby and you will have one to bring home earthside in 2012. I can't help you with the HCG injections, but obviously your tests on CD3 aren't going to happen because you're not going to have a cycle for a LONG time :) Only thing I can say is to try to relax (yes, I know it's impossible) and focus on the fact that you ARE pregnant. I look forward to seeing your HCG level rise and rise. :hug:

AFM, still here, nothing to report. Baby seems lower today, but that happens every so often (silly second babies). My student middy friend was just over and she had a feel, says head feels really low today - we've got our fingers crossed bubs wont make us wait too long!

MelM ~ very pleased for you- that HCG level sounds really good! I was also dated back a week and a half at my 1st scan so dont be concerned about that - its not 100% accurate at all. I found accupuncture in my first 12 weeks fabulous!

Lysndan ~ sounding good, FX'd tight bub hangs on as long as possible. so pleased your dad is much better :)

phebee ~ thanks hun, actually over the last day or 2 I finally feel like I'm growing a bit! I'm waiting for the movements though as I'm not too sure what I'm looking for. Hope you feel lots regularly soon! I also think I have sciatica or something similar but my pain is more in the hip joint and lower back rather that the buttocks, also ive had jabbing type pains on RHS of very lower abdomen - its been freaking me out a bit and then last night my back was aching so much I could hardly sleep. hopefully its all just stretching and wear and tear on my body.

Silver Bell - Welcome! I've got the Christmas carol 'Silver Bells' in my head now, hehe! I really really hope and pray this bub is your sticky one. Sorry, I don't know anything about HCG injections. Has your OB explained it properly?

WBM - You're still here! Hopefully the head being so low is a good sign. How are you coping comfort-wise?

Loops - Good to hear on the growing! My OB said not to worry too much cause my belly measures exactly how it should and it still might take a while to pop more. I've had a lot of movement yesterday and today, thanks! I've also had pain in my lower back/hip cause last night I think I pulled a muscle there squatting down to get some pans out of the cupboard. Nearly fell over backwards and grabbed the kitchen sink at the last minute. Phew! But I think it pulled a muscle :P Hope your pains are just round ligament pains!


AFM - Well I had my appointment this morning and all is great! GD test, Vitamin D and Iron all came back normal, though iron is on the lower side of normal. My belly is measuring exactly right for 29 weeks (today) and heartbeat was a good 143bpm. Bub still has a lot of room to move & was transverse but OB said it will still be flipping all over the place at the moment. Yay! Only concern is my phe levels which are a little on the high side so I'm cutting back to 23g protein a day for a while to get the balance right.

Yup, still here, I thought it was going to happen overnight for some reason, but no joy there. Bubs still feels pretty low, so we'll see what happens in the next couple of days. Still feeling pretty comfortable Phee - but I'm distracted by a toddler which helps :)

Sorry for the short post again, the bin truck is on its way and anyone with a toddler knows how important that is!

WBM - I never understood how much of a distraction a child was, it's a godsend! Hope bubba comes soon, cause then you get your newborn cuddles rather than belly rubs. FX.

Just updating briefly, had my scan today and bub is 1.65cm, 8wks, heartrate is 154bpm, and I even got to hear the heartbeat :)
nly downside is that the corpus luteal cyst is measuring 6cm and touching my right ovary and also starting to put pressure on my uterus. I'll be back later for persies.

JJ - I had an 8cm cyst on my ovary, they either implode or explode apparently. If they implode, you get pain for quite a while, dull pain, if they explode you have excruciating pain but only for 24 hours or so. Mine imploded, but was still visible at the 20 week scan. My Ob said they have nothing to do with viability. I hope that helps :) The rest of your scan sounds AWESOME!

dory, the little ones make life so much easier don't they :)

WBM - did you ask your Obs why the cyst forms in the first place? Just curious. I was doing some research on VBAC today and now I have a good list of questions to ask the Obs when we get to talking about that stuff. I was happy to labour away for HB, but there was no action on the labour front and I was getting anxious but then I developed HELLP and HB had to be delivered.... immediately. No other option. I hope you get your VBAC, and I know you can do it if you get the chance.

Jenna - sorry about the cyst. Least you know what all that cramping is about now.

AFM - OMG I had a day where I wasn't completely exhausted AND where I only had mild-ish nausea most of the time with a couple of intense waves. OMG, it was divine. I did realise just recently that this pregnancy's dates basically coincides with Amelia's. A bit sobering. Trying not to be superstitious.... but.... we had plans to go to Sydney for Chrissy, but $ and my germ phobia ( being on a plane, in airports, and getting sick when we went away just recently) made it so we probably weren't going, but then when I reaslised the conincidences I couldn't go. We went to Sydney for Chrissy during Amelia's pregnancy. Whilst it was awesome and I didn't get sick from the "germs", mentally I just can't put myself back there. Besides at another level, that was our special time with Amelia. We need to do something else for little Raspberry Bear.

Thanks dory! I know I can do it too, it's quite empowering :) My OB has been brilliant and just simply sees it as a normal labour. The only precautions I have are if I have pain at my scar that doesn't go away, or bleeding, to go straight to hospital. No additional monitoring, no early presentation to hospital, no limits on labour times, no limits on overdue-ness (c/s at 42 weeks - my choice). Only other limit (I forgot) is no induction, but I'm happy with that.

Re the cyst, it's where the egg was released during the cycle, they're pretty normal, but sometimes they fill with fluid. There's nothing wrong, and you can have them when not pregnant too - I did after a clomid cycle once too. They're just painful! But you know which ovary did the good stuff and released the eggie :)

I get the not wanting to go to Sydney at Christmas. The dates coinciding must be pretty daunting. It's one thing to know intellectually that this is a completely different pregnancy, but that doesn't help the thinking :hug: it must be so hard!

Phebee - I feel exactly like that re food, somedays starving especially in the morning and then I can't be bothered eating at night it is like I am so over food! Lol also it does sound like sciatica, my Chiro told me to try sitting on a tennis ball and rolling it around the affected area or lean up against a wall with it, hope that helps.
AFM - somedays I have to remind myself I'm actually pregnant, not much going on back to the obs on 9 dec, still getting nauseous if I don't eat, smells are getting to me a little bit but I constantly worry that my weight and being "obese" is affecting my baby, I haven't put any weight on at all and I'm 13.5 weeks now.
I hope everyone else is traveling well. :)

Thankyou everyone for the well wishes but this is going to be a me post. On thanksgiving this past thursday my bf 10 year old ran full speed into me and almost knocked me over and the child could care less. But i went to the dr yesterday and found out that my bp is still going up wish i am worried i might go toxic this time and they did this test to check if i would go into labor in the next two weeks and it came back postive. I am have blood suger issues so for me to take the steroids for her lungs could hurt more then help her. I am 34 weeks its not like when i was pregnat with honor i could just go take a nap this child is super active. So that is what is going on sorry this is about me but i wish everyone else well

blondtress - Hmm might try the tennis ball thing if it gets worse. It hasn't really been too bad. It's on and off. Food is in the hungry stage at the moment, lol. I much prefer that cause usually I take a lot of snacks so its easy to alleviate. Feeling full and being burpy and refluxy is not so easy to alleviate!

angelfish - OMG you poor thing! That can't be helfpul for anxiety! I hope your bf has spoken to the child about what happened so s/he does not do it again! I really hope your bp settles soon. Keeping you in my prayers! xxx



AFM - Well, things are starting to wrap up at work. Reports are due on Friday and I've done them all, just got to tweak some things. Students finish on the 14th and we finish on the 15th, but that day is pretty much just morning tea and Christmas lunch, lol. Looking forward to my time off! This Friday my sis and her hubby are flying down from up north where they live (2 hours flight away) and dropping their youngest (almost 2) off with my parents and the older two (almost 4 and 5.5) with her hubby's parents, while they go over east for 2 weeks. So I'm going to spend a little time with my almost 2-year-old niece until they come back on the 16th and spend the day at my parents' house. Perfect timing as I'll have just finished work the day before :) It's been a while since I've seen them all, so I'm very much looking forward to it!

Baby/pregnancy wise my checkup went well last week (as I already posted). Last Sunday night I slept horribly but ever since then I've had really good sleeps and haven't been too tired during the day. Must be saving it all up for the evening! Bub is quite active at the moment and gave me a right pummeling at 2am last night! It seems to favour a transverse position at the moment and whenever I laid on my left side it would kick like mad, but not when I laid on my right. I was a bit worried the head was on the left and I was squashing it, but people have reassured me it shouldn't be the case. No idea which end is the head and which is the feet, but I get more kicks under my right ribs, so I'm thinking the head IS on the left.

It's been a big week for announcements with 3 close friends giving birth during the week and another couple getting engaged. Yay! I love these things! All the new babies are gorgeous and one is DH's cousin's baby who is a boy, so hopefully he'll make a good playmate for our bub :) WBM one of the bubs was due the day before yours and they only had it yesterday! I also had a busy weekend with my nephew's 5th birthday party, dinner at my parents', church, lunch with DH's family and grandparents and a Tupperware party. I bought those pop out ice cube trays so I can freeze puree for the bub when it's onto solids :)

Aside from that, my Grandad had a heart operation this morning and is on the ward recovering well at this stage. Phew! Praying that he continues to recover well. Hope everyone else is well!

I wish you were right Jess! No baby here yet :) But I'm off for some monitoring today (normal overdue monitoring). I'll have a CTG and placenta scanny thing twice this week before seeing the Ob on Monday to discuss c/s day. But I wont be at that appointment because I'll have a baby :)

phee, it sounds like everything's going well in your world at the moment! Lots of babies and other exciting news :) Your baby's got plenty of room to flick around in at the moment, don't worry about head squashing, if it's uncomfortable, it'll move somewhere else.

angel - I hope your stress levels are manageable and you are doing ok - baby stay there for a lot longer yet! I hope you have a good friend or family member that can take Honor for a few hours so you can get a rest on a regular basis chicky.

bt - sounds like things are going pretty well for you. No weight gain in the first tri for someone who's overweight is fine. I didn't gain much then either, and I'm not too badly overweight (well, I am at the moment, but that's the baby, lol!). I've gained plenty now, but I did put myself out to pasture - oops.

Oh well, I hope to have more exciting news soon, but nothing much to tell yet, I'll let you all know how the monitoring goes, it'll be nice to see a long trace of bub's heartbeat at the very least :)

WB- Well I hope you get your vbac your aiming for! How far will your dr. let you go?

I'm seeing him again on Monday given all the monitoring stays good, we'll talk c/s dates then. So I'll be 42 weeks when we're talking dates :) He's genuinely pro-VBAC which is lovely. Hope I don't make it to that appointment though!!

Heaps of amniotic fluid on the scan today, top end of normal. Bub's heartrate on the CTG was great, lots of movement, and I reckon in about 20 minutes of monitoring I had at least 4 good contractions. Not proper ones obviously, but hope we get things moving soon.

No need for that now hey? Congratulations WBM on your lovely little girl! Enjoy your newborn snuggles :)

Girls, if you haven't seen my BA ... Amelia is here. She arrived on 30/11/11 at 10.43pm weighing in at a teeny 850 grams and had a HC of 24cm. Length of 33cms. Born by emergency c sec... We are both going fine at the moment I've just expressed 8ml (yay) from both boobies so she will have something to start on when she's ready for EBM.

Ok girls off to sleep. Still in hospy so draining with a premmie. Hmm.

lol - I had my monitoring :) But still went back that night to have a baby. A big healthy girl born to us on 30.11.2011. She was actually 9lb 8oz!
